Hi, I’ve been enjoying KCD for quite a while. At first, I had no issues, however as time progressed they began appearing: from my second launch of the game onward, the part where the game “draws” the warhorse logo has been blacked out, the game not responding, while the sound plays in the background, until the final frame. Later, I began having loading issues. The game has now become unplayable; every time I try to enter dialog or sleep I have to wait around a minute and a half. I really cannot comprehend the source of these issues.
My specs:
GTX 1070 Windforce
i7 4790K
16GB ram
Playing on high settings with max sliders.

I have these issues but only when I’m in a busy area. Do you have the game installed on an SSD or HDD? The game has to reload textures/meshes any time you enter into a conversation AFAIK, and a HDD can slow your game down quite a bit, doubly so on 1440p I bet.

Trying to move it to my SSD, I’ll report tomorrow. Thanks. Still annoying and rather disappointing considering the immense effort put into the game…
There’s even a performance mod for it if you prefer playing on the HDD
I doubt it solves everything, but you’re definitely not the only one suffering from extremely long load times on a HDD.
