DirectX 11 problems

I get a “Your graphics card does not support DirectX 11” I know for a fact it does, I’ve played DX11 games before. I think the problem is, the game is defaulting to using “Intel Integrated Graphics 3000”, my motherboard card, instead of my Nvidia GTX 540M, which is the gaming card that has DX11 support. How would I make it switch to the 540M? Logs below

control panel>hardware and sound>disable integrated graphics card

All that did was cap the screen res at 1024x768, and make the computer ultra slow.

…and enable your GPU

My GPU is enabled though.

Disable onboard video in BIOS setup?

Don’t know exactly but is it possible that some features of the game using DX10.1?
If so, this is not supported by his card.

My integrated card uses DX10.1, and gaming card uses DX11. Also, I’m pretty sure that all DXes are backwards compatible, a card that can support DX11 could support DX10.

Just tried that, BIOS has no setting to turn it off.

EDIT:Just found out that my laptop display is plugged into the integrated card, which is then routed to the 540M.

We were able to reproduce your problem here, but it was enough to upgrade the Nvidia drivers. Please try to go to:

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk‏

And enter 500M as Product Series and then select your card (in our case it was 555M, but I would hope that it would work for 540M as well).

And a word of warning – an older notebook graphics card is really not what runs Kingdom Come very fast.

Didn’t work, but oh well, I’ll be building a desktop that’ll surely be able to run it soon.

I´m having exactly the same problem with GT540M and Nvidia Optimus tehnology. The game seems to register only integrated Intel graphics card, not the dedidcated Nvidia one. Newest drivers made also no difference for me …

Okay you need to add your game exe file to the programs in Nvidia control panel and change the GPU setting from global to Nvidia only but trust me this is a totally pointless effort. I have a GTX660m which itself is pretty old and am barely managing to run the game at around 30fps at 720p using a lot of commands from the cryengine console. A GT540m is not even half as fast in terms of raw performance and moreover, there are other things beyond the res size that take away performance in games and it will probably be impossible to run this game even at 480p or lower at 30fps constant. Either way, you really need to ditch that laptop at this point unless you bought it not long ago. In which cases, my condolences.
