I seem to get very dirty very quickly. I’ve noticed other people have this problem too. It’s kind of annoying. Does anyone know in much detail how the mechanics work? For instance, do the items of clothing vary in their dirtiness individually, or does the character just have a level of dirtiness that affects his entire set of clothing? I hope they implement a level per individual item that governs how dirty it looks based on how the character interacts with the environment. Currently, it’s just annoying
It is annoying. One poster liked it to walking 200m in a town then looking like you fell in a mud hole.
How the heck can you get the upper part of you that dirty on a road on a horse?
I too wish the Devs would slow it down a lot more.
On PC there are a couple of mods tho they have not been updated towards patchs for many months. User beware of conflicts.
I ride Jenda all the time. So, dirtiness is to be expected (riding horse on dirt paths and fighting all enemies found therein). That said, some dirty patterns seem a little overboard (eg long Skalitz waffenrock and long dark waffenrock)
I know, it’s especially annoying on helmets. It looks like it hasn’t been washed in years, but in reality it was about 2 - 5 ingame hours ago haha. It seems reasonable to have your boots, legs, and - to a lesser degree - gauntlets get dirty quite quickly, but the torso, helmet, and pauldrons etc, not so much. Perhaps I should’ve pointed out I’m on PS4 as well, so I can’t access mods, which is a shame.
The mechanics of it seems very strange. I remember wading through muddy water and splashing in puddles etc and not being dirtied at all from it. But walking around a town for a while made my entire body dirtier. It seems like it’d be a simple fix, just delaying how long it takes for the character to accrue dirt.
and being in a downpour doesn’t seem to make clothes look less dirty or modify the look. the dusty, sweaty look of the long Skalitz waffenrock that persists even after a long ride in the rain at a fevered pitch on Warhorse Jenda comes to mind
There’s a perk where you can have more charisma with women by being dirtier.
And give up sneaking with it as the SMELL you comming
Aye I was thinking about taking it at first, but my character dabbles in a bit of novice level thievery, so I thought that I better leave it for this playthrough
Sounds canny funny though doesn’t it haha, I like the thought they put into it. Is there any dialogue that goes with it?
Ah yeah I thought that too! I wonder if they’ve heard anyone talking about it, I’d appreciate that being added in
My kettle helmet looks like it’s rusting most of the time.
visit the bath house more often.
Its incredibly frustrating to be dirty after having just been to the baths. Not only does going to the baths seem futile and a waste of time, but the time it takes to get dirty really takes away from the immersion of the game. I’ve seen tons of posts on Reddit and steam forums talking about it but without change from the devs the only available option (that is if you’re on pc) is to mod.
I gave up worrying about dirt, I just go to the baths when it is at it’s worst. It’s not like you can see your character much anyway to even notice.
I’ve done the same, its just annoying to see a dirty boi every time I go into my inventory. Its a wierd mechanic and seems like an incredibly easy fix for the devs.
Do you play on PC? If so, there are a few mods that reduce dirt down to a more acceptable level.
Thread over a year old but I did up a mod for those who want.
Google drive Clean For Days-Should keep you clean for a few days and you can see yourself if you play in third person view.
15 mins of gameplay and not dirty yet in third person view so you can see yourself
