Will it be possible to use common objects as weapons? I was thinking of, say, a pitchfork, broom handle, tankard, frying pan, random rod found on the spot, lit torch, fishing rod and so on…this would be cool specially in the early stages of the game when you may not be able to afford a proper weapon.
The other thing I would love to be in the final game is the possibility of throwing dust in your opponent’s eyes, nut-kicking him and other nasty stuff: this “dirty” techniques would feel perfect for the thief-assassin kind of player and could be of some use even for a bard who got himself into trouble.
Sounds good, maybe in Act 2 or 3 they will start to play with the engine, I guess now they want to focus on the main bits like the story and the combat, voice acting, different classes etc. It would be great to see this sort of stuff implemented in game but maybe at the later date.
Makes sense…pity 'though, because in act 2 and 3 the character will be already developed and, at least for what concerns weapons, he will already have proper ones
(unless they have a different character for every act, do you know something about it?)
I suppose that depends on the difficulty of implementing weapons. If implementing a frying pan as weapon is just taking the attack/damage model of a mace, changing the model and the damage values a little bit then hell yeah. If it takes long and needs an entire mo-cap sessions then maybe later.
that would be work for another year at least, man All those new moves and broom inverse kinematics…
Meh or they could just make a broom skin for a spear but lower the damage by a shit ton.
