Since I lag out too much at the enemy’s camp for the full attack, I tried to take on a few at a time by myself. It worked ok for a while, but then after I left the area (I went across the map) I could not sleep as a message said I was still fighting. Is there a way to get out of that mode? Not sure if it is specific to the camp.
Sometimes you just get stuck in combat. You can try killing something, and that can work. You can also just wait it out. Beyond that, start again.

This is interesting idea which might work but I would not really say that it WILL saolve your problem.
The problem here is a bug in interaction between enemies. What happens is that they basically stay in loop and tell each other about an enemy (you). So if you aggro more than one enemy you will most likely stay in combat.
Maybe it can be waited out as @Aradiel suggests but personally I dont think so.
There are only two real solutions:
- kill all the enemies
- start a new game (maybe load old save, but save/load feature is not also reliable in beta)
I tested it once, and I couldn’t sleep initially, but eventually I was able to. All I did was wait around. I have also dropped combat by killing a random peasant.
The fastest way is obviously to just restart. It’s hard to find all the people you’re in combat with. They could be anywhere.

yes there is some possibility that it works, but there is just too much veriables to say it for sure
For some reason I was able to disengage after getting just the ones that came after me. I killed them all, but sadly, the all revived for the battle.
