Both games when patched are essentially the same game. (Downloaded versions include any updates).
There is one potential huge difference between your systems that might make the game play very differently… and is a fix I have employed a few times. (It works for me and a few others- one or two people say it didnt work but their technical levels were low and I didnt check if they did the steps, my estimate being they did not)
So why the differences?
The game remains the same… but the way the system reads the game is different from system to system.
For a few reasons.
1)Users might have replaced their drives. Not all drives are the same- some feature say two or four 250Gb platters for a total of 500/1000Gb. Another drive might use 333Gb platters (x3) to make a 1000Gb (1 terabyte) disc.
Playstations when they set up the internal disc, leave scratchspace for faster games loading on thenoutside of the platter. If a user has changed the drive they could really destroy loading speeds/streaming speeds.
Most games are not as tricky as KCD and wouldnt reveal the issue.
2) (most likely) drive is fragmented. Even if drive wasnt fragmented to begin with… 23Gb patches can fragment pretty easily and install… as xan refular large updates like we have been getting…
To this I offer a solution; backup your game install to an external storage device. Clean up internal drive (ideally a format, but that wipes all data, so I suggest to delete a few games from the console when it was first bought. They will likely be at the start of the drive and continuous… should free up around 80Gb ideally.
This fix works if the free space is all together. (Not scattered in little pockets all over the drive- which is what we are trying to fix)
Anyhow- cleanup done- copy/restore backed up game onto the system drive again.
The game files should now all sit neatly together.
This will hreatly help any game using large amounts of hi quality streaming assets. (There aren’t many- so most users have never seen these issues before)
Anyhow… game file fragmentation is the greatest cause for system to system differences.
Good luck
