Dismantling some armor myths and misconceptions

An interesting video capturing Dirk Breideing’s presentation about some common misconceptions regarding armor in middle ages. I personally enjoyed it very much, cause it is not only informational but the presenter has a specific type of humor. Do you know any other arms and arma related misconceptions or interesting facts. Share them here.

P.S: Also if I am reposting content or posting it in a wrong place warn me! So I can fix it before Tobi rushes to my office to slap me in the face.

The myth of the 6lb (one-handed!) longsword STILL makes me tear my hair out. And thanks to D&D it will probably NEVER go away.

Also that European swords were glorified metal clubs. And pretty much ANYTHING pertaining to Western Martial Arts being crude and unrefined.

Thank you for sharing.

And you guys (@TobiTobsen @MadSmejki @WH_JiriRydl and others involved in the making, specifically @Anna for the QA) should watch it, too.

It would be awesome if they put some work into historically accurate armor.

the armors in this game are brilliant and so far seems to be the best realistic armor ever made for a videogame. however, i do hope they iron out some of the issues with the bending of plate armor. i know it’s impossible to get it fully correct without any bending, but some parts, like the fan plate on the poleyns are rigged in such a way they actually compress like two pieces of bread on each other. sometimes they even intersect and go into one another, but this is rare and only present on extreme inverse kinematic moments. any way to mitigate these flaws, like rig the fan plate apart from the other components?
