Do you thing this game will compete withe the elder scrolls?

The combat in this game is unique and personally, I think setting the bar for other first person games out there. I hope to see this game become as successful as the likes of the elder scrolls series. With this being a successful hit, that would only mean more funding, more time, more features and better games. And I will be there for every one of them. (Provided the development team can be arsed lol)

then you need more training lessons
In the first month of version 0.4 i was very terrible and bad.
I think i can say that a better performance will bring better results in fights.
Atm it is hard to hit the enemy in the right moments with actual fps. Blocking inlcuded!
My fps is medium to low. Means, not more then 26 fps

Imho they won’t compete, but stand side by side. There are similarities, but too many differences. You will always want to go back to Skyrim for instance (flashed out with some new mods) to cast some spells, kill dragons or check what community made (there is a lot and will be even more). But in Kingdom Come you expect something completely different.

I think we should not even compare these two games. For me KC is too unique so far. And that is fantastic, isn’t it?

  1. It isn’t an “realistic” “Fantasy”(i know/undertand what you mean). It is only an “realistic” Game!
  2. No, not really. But if they do it right, they will have their fair share of target Audience. As well from the Elder Scrolls Players…

I think there’s no real comparison. Bethesda have a bigger budget and have honed the franchise and usually have 5 years+ to build their games. But warhorse are experienced developers and will do the best with what they have. This game may one day be as big a deal as the elder scrolls. I for one followed warhorse long before they went on kickstarter. Have faith my friend.

This game is to skyrim, just as Mafia 1 was to GTA…

Looks similar(cars+shooting and rpg+openworld+medieval), but there seems to be huge differences in overall tone and experience…
GTA and Skyrim are like huge playgrounds made just so you can enjoy your stay in the world.
Mafia and KCD are mainly character and story focused, and using that openworld playground only as settings for the story.
So in GTA and Skyrim your main source of fun is basically USING that openworld.
In KCD and Mafia your main source of fun is story, characters, mechanics and only after that there is that openworld.

I agree, but… Henry as a source of fun? Or his dog? Hardly… even playing as Geralt in W3 was extremely annoying, since he’s ugly and male. At least we had Ciri there… or Triss. Sad she was unplayable… or those ugly characters in GTA5. At least I could improve my experience from it in MP as a female character!

TES games (Fallout too) are nothing great imo. all aspects of their games, especially since Oblivion, are mediocre. Theres no balance, no synergy between the elements that compose their games. Their design choices and moddable nature makes the games feel incomplete, unpolished and without a clear direction.
I can never manage to play more than 20 to 30 hours with every new iteration.

Should this game find pleasant reviews for the elements on wich it wants to be recognised and perform better in bug related issues as opposed to bethestha games id say it has a better chance. Just like Souls Series manged to refresh ARPGs and story telling this studio can lay the groundwork for future and better competent frst person rpg games and of course full on fantasy.

It will not be able to compete against the elder scrolls

The `possibility of becoming an overpowered unbeatable god like character is too much for the casual gamer and many more experienced gamers

this game is marketed towards specific groups of people (history buffs and realism freaks im both btw)

Well, I am no history nor realism fan. I am excited for this game because I trust the devs at WH work hard to deliver on some features that I wished were better in recent Bethesda projects (like RPG, story, technical state of the game etc.). It would be appreciated by everyone if WH achieves to make these areas more sophisticated…
And I really hope that the game will not be delayed until TES comes out…

lol this had better come out before tes6 comes out
bethesda is still supporting tesonline and skyrim remade is probably being made to be a buffer

Right. Also Todd have said that they do not even have a technology (new engine?) Ready for the next TES. And that we can expect something completely new from Bethesda studios before TES6…

Seems that kcd might get some new RPG franchise to compete with…

id expect kcd to compete if not surpass most other games
well based on what its supposed to be at least

Me too. But even more I hope that it sets the bar for future RPGs of other developers.

And I am also neither into history nor realism (although I find the “no dragons” premise refreshing), but I do value a believable game world and NPCs that are more than simple quest-dispensers. Bethesda had the world part nailed in Morrowind, IMO, but the last RPG that had both aspects right (given the technological restrictions of the time) was Ultima VII in 1992. If KC:D could compete with latter, I’d be more than happy

part of the reason i find myself going back to morrowind all the time despite its not so amazing graphics (well at least compared to now)

agree completely to everything else
