Drinking alcohol should have more depth/use

I guess this is more of a suggestion for the next game, but drinking needs more involved.

First off, you shouldn’t be “drunk” when you take just one drink. That’s silly. I’d say divide the the drinking thing into 4 quadrants. 1 is just a small amount of alcohol, maybe increases speech/charisma very slightly, but that’s all. 2 is the buzzed state, here you get a bigger speech/charisma boost, but your coordination takes a slight hit. 3 is drunk, vision starts blurring, coordination starts going, etc. 4 is overly drunk to where you’re at risk of passing out and will probably vomit at some point. Here you take a hit in speech & charisma because you start acting like an ass. Any perks that involve drinking should revolve around the 4 quadrants. Not like it is now where I can take a sip of beer and become a lock picking expert.

Now, when it comes to drinking, it needs to have more use than just speech and picking locks. I remember in the first Witcher game, you could drinking with people and when they got drunk enough they’d give you information. I’d think of something similar. People all over towns & cities could potentially give Henry information when he drinks with them. Some people will give you useless information, others maybe locations of treasures, bandit locations, quest tips, etc. The key is also for Henry to pay attention when the people he’s drinking with are talking to him. Some people may start slipping up with some information when they’re buzzed, others may need to get really trashed. If he gets the gist that someone is just wasting his time, he could also just call it quits and leave. Leveling up drinking here could also prove useful since the higher your drinking skill, the slower you get drunk. This could allow you to drink someone under the table so to speak. They’ll be trashed and you’ll be feeling like you’ve had a drink or two.

Beyond that, I’d love to see taverns in general expanded. Fighting could maybe happen in the taverns rather than out in a field somewhere, people singing songs, things of that nature. Taverns are pretty boring places in KCD sadly.

i could see things like “cheap wine” being divided into percents. one drink = amount of the total.
so every time you take a drink you drain the container much like a repair kit, but it gives you an amount of drunkenness. same with hard booze. I think beer is fine, and should be lowered in amount of drunk percent per drink but stay one unit per click of consumption (henry is from the middle ages and is used to consuming beer. I bet most people from the middle ages could drink any modern american frat boy under the table in no time). being drunk should also make you hungry and need or want to eat and also make you hung over more
