Drinking skill/activity discussion thread

Don’t get me wrong, I love drinking IRL, but for the most part I’ve started away of drinking (except quest related drinking). As someone’s who hasn’t spend a lot of time drinking in the game, I would like to ask what are the actual benefits or use of drinking. I’ve seen that you can heal/nourish without alcohol so… my question is should I spend my nights at the tavern spending my hard earned money instead of saving up for books and staying home at night reading?

So far for me drinking is more a choice if you want to make henry a drunk or not. Ive opted to make him a drunk and pretty much drink whenever he can. It adds to nourishment to keep you full added effects is increased stats (up to a certain level of drunk) once you pass it they become negative stats. Being drunk can make it hard to do anything including finding your way home to bed to go to sleep which i think is hilarious. Ive opted for the perk that makes beer weaker and wine stronger so i usually have a beer or two to keep the stat boost and maybe a wine before sleeping or after a quest cause my henry is relaxing by getting smashed. Alocholism seems pretty negative overall (-3 in a few stats until you stay away from drinking or drink a potion) but i think it makes for a funny character that talks to people hammered

The main benefit of drinking skill is being able to drink more alcohol containing stuff before getting wasted (saviour schnapps, other potions…)
