Dynamic Village

Hi All,

I’m really excited about this game. I love Medieval games and this one looks promising.

Quick questions about villages though, I know that you can’t buy property but is it possible to make a village rich (or poor if you hate the village?)?

Like if I like this village (maybe coz there are lots of sexy ladies? ) and I want it to grow, I’ll give money to the Baron (mayor or cheif?) and watch the village grow? Or destroy some properties in the village to make it poor?

I think it’ll be a nice change of pace from fighting or main story quest. Just hang out in a village and you’ll remember that this once was a 4 house village, now it has maybe, I don’t know 50 houses with lots of business? And if they don’t treat you well, you’ll turn it back to 1 house by burning them.

And it would still be nice if you can buy a house lol.

Regardless, I’ll still buy this game (I don’t buy games :frowning: )!

The simplest answer is no.

There have been no features discussed like this from the developers.

I would love a feature like this myself, however I don’t believe it fits with the general focus of being story based and real historical events.

Not to mention how difficult or even possible that would be to actually implement.

Imagine yourself in Bohemia 1403, peasants are working hard to make their living… I doubt you will find a village full of “sexy” ladies  As far as I know there will be mature intercourse with women. But I can’t tell you if you have to pay for it

Doubt it, though it’d be cool. Also, as it has been said, this would be so difficult.

But sounds like a DLC I would pay for

DLCs are ruining the trust of gamers toward publishers and therefore the game industry.

Yes, I totally agree. But its not a planned feature and it would be nice to have. Also, there are quite good and fair DLCs (or lets call it Addons), just depends on how the publisher/developer handles it

Yes it could be a nice feature.
We should also be able to lead a band and be a king get married and have children and invade other countries.

And do not forget the katana thing, they were quite popular sword in Asia and some could have made it trough Europe in these days.

Joke aside, this is the exact kind of sh*t what is missing from Warband. For example, dedicate a place for a windmill in the village. You built a windmill? Great, put the model there, the model is already in the game anyways! Someone raided your village? Change every model to it’s burnt down counterpart! Etc. - but no, no such thing in KCD.

Maybe in Act II you might find some beloved villages and villagers you did quest for raped, killed and burnt (not necessarily in this order) by my gentlemanly ancestors, the cumans - but again, I would be surprised if we see that level of dynamism in the game.

If you give all your money to the baron the only thing that will happen is he will say “thank you” and walk away laughing. Haha

I somehow believe you, Baron.

“What is that? You want me to use this money to make the village better so you can have sexy time with my friends daughters? Suuuurrree… I’ll do that right away Master Henry. If you give me more money I might start a brothel just for you…” major sarcasm. Haha! Later on you see the baron strutting around in some new fancy slippers.

I actually would think it would be cool to have dynamic villages like you describe, but I can’t see it happening in this game. In a game focused on conquest (like Warband) I can totally see it happening (maybe in the upcoming Bannerlord game??). The story in this game will take place over a few months. To see a village go from 4 homes to 50 homes would take a long time. So even if Henry was able to come up with investment money to increase the wealth of a village; we wouldn’t see any progress. I also don’t think the protagonist will have much control over anything significant in this game except how the story progresses. In this game we are not a god-like dragonborn superhero, which is a good thing.
