Enemies "glue" onto Henry when attacking

There’s a bug that has annoyed me for a long time, and I can’t find anyone else who’s complained about it.

When Henry is running away from Bandits and one manages to “connect” an attack with him, the bandit will literally glue onto Henry and complete his combo / flurry even if Henry is MOVING AWAY. You can’t do combos while running forward so this tells me it’s a glitch.

It happened again recently where I was sprinting past an enemy on a horse and once they had managed to connect an attack, they completed the attack and stayed “glued” onto Henry and his horse.

So in a nutshell, enemies can glue onto Henry when attacking, running away won’t help. But if Henry tries to do the same thing to an enemy, they get away 9/10 unless fully plated and a single strike doesn’t take them out.

Actually Henry, does stick to enemies, and moves in a strange floaty kind of way. It’s not a bug, it’s the design of the combat.

But what about sprinting away from the enemy and have them executing a combo whilst you’re moving?

Once they’re locked on, they will kind of slide up to you. You can definitely run away if you’re faster though.

It can’t only bother me though, because it happens when on a horse as well. Once the enemy starts the animation to dismount Henry, he clips on and moves at the same speed as Henry and the horse. It can’t be by design.

Whether or not it’s good design is a matter of opinion, but it is by design. The rubberbanding has been discussed before, but it’s definitely not a bug.

Ah got you. Is it a good design, in your opinion?

No, but what annoys me isn’t the same thing that annoys you. The problem I have with it is when Henry attacks, and even though you hold back and sprint, he keeps pushing forward, rubberbanding, and getting stomped as he runs out of stamina.

Another thing that annoys me is that sometimes when you attack enemies, especially on your first hit, they sometimes run around in a circle and become immune to damage, even if your weapon hits them.

The enemy rubberbanding onto me is less of an issue, and I understand why they do it, because otherwise we’d just walk all over them by moving ever so slightly out of range, and then once they’re done, we’d have a very easy time laying into them as they’re low on stamina.

The enemies sticking to you, sure, I understand. Losing control of my character. No, never is that acceptable.

Agree. The fact that the collision on NPCs is more or less non-existent is also a problem. It exists apparently only during the “Clinch” animation sequence, but otherwise they can move “THROUGH” Henry and the horse.

The way you’ve put it sums it up brilliantly! That’s exactly the same frustration that I feel, when all of those issues hit at once and Henry is literally powerless to do anything. Then I scream in anger as I see his health dropping and hear the sound of plate being hit, and nothing I can do to stop it.
