Enemy Counters your attack with upward slash

It was discussed here that, sometimes your enemy counters you, but his counter can also be countered. But, what was discussed is that weirdly, sometimes it can’t be countered at all. You get no counter prompt.

After doing some tests, I realized that EVERY time I can’t counter his counter, is if it was a slash coming from the top. Note that I can counter a top slash if he just attacks first, but if he counters with an up slash, it’s 100% of the time uncounterable.

Note that the test was performed on relatively good enemies. It’s difficult to test it with enemies that suck at fighting, since they die quite easily… :frowning:

Anybody else experienced the same thing?

No one…? :(:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Hmm… are you talking about riposte? You can’t counter a riposte.

No. Well, at least I don’t think so. In the case of ripostes, I am used to getting hit right after the parry when the enemy manages a riposte.

But, for those upstrikes, they really didn’t look like ripostes, they were too slow. Unless that an up slash riposte is slower than the other ones…

Hard to tell.
