Enemy NPC loot 1.4.3

The quality of enemy weapons and armor has increased a lot.

A lot of high end stuff can now be looted. The vendor wealth pool seems to have been modified so it seems harder to build wealth even though you can possess many more valuable items. Not 100% if this is because I didn’t keep priming the pump or if WH put caps on the vendors.

One other noticeable change for me is the enemy weapons despawn way too quickly. Just got tied up battling a couple high-end bandits. The 4 or so other bandits fought at a distance of about 20m or so. Some died. Their weapons and shields disappeared by the time I finished off my guys and went over to check on them. Turned around back to my guys and their non-polearms weapons were gone. Still don’t like that dropped weapons aren’t in NPC inventory. This just makes a bad gameplay dynamic worse

If WH really wants to restrict loot abuse, WH should enforce weight (carry) restrictions better.

The radii of wiping objects and the timeframes is no doubt tweaking towards the lowest common denominator system. (Optimisation- though not really good optimisation).
Base ps4 has way more grunt than their low end target point.
And pcs have whatever a users chooses, and should have scaling.

Presently Ultra settings have been pulled back in subtle ways- which doesnt make sense…
Optimisation for very high settings in ways that gimp it- would be tolerable and leave the game future system capable (in the way that people still ask a few can it run crysi… ahem, kingdom come).

I dont think it is gameplay enhancing, but blanket changes (to everyone) so that the lowest end system can ‘survive’.

I have seen other games released that just get heavy handed with a scalpel until some silly target is made.
In forzas case it was intentional to keep the pc users playing a subpar game vs the console. Made sense as many forum users would complain (about pc version) saying they will buy the xbox to make it run right…
(We couldnt buya pc license for forza as microsoft was fudging statitlstics to make direct x 12 pcs (that have xbox live software) count as xbox live contact hours (the metric they quote the industry instead of unit sales).
Every time forza glitched on my pc and I had to redownload was ‘more xbox live contact time’.
(These issues still persist btw)

Original forza ran better for many (certainly graphically)… a few bugs aside.

KCD having fog removed is a tell tale that might become part of a growing pile of evidence…

Ultra settings on pc doesnt need these gimpings but we are getting them.
Presently Im letting these things go as it appears WH are desperate to make the game shine on an xbox.

If microsoft aquires them I will bail ship…

It’s unfortunate. So how much are you expecting from 1.5?

You mention lowest common denominator. To me, that translates to performance in settlements seems bollocksed. If 1.5 doesn’t reverse the trend, settlement mods and DLCs would seem compromised

@WH_janrucker or anyone else… yesterday i battled some of the new high end enemies. had 2 attacking me. killed one right in front of me. looked down to loot… the shield and axe gone. almost seemed like they fell through the ground instead of despawning as mentioned above. got hit by other NPC so had to turn and fight. after done, turned back and looked closely… nothin’

can someone confirm or clarify what’s happening?

Despawing is bad (sneaky way to deprive loot); falling through ground is worse (potential physics problem)

I think there is a lot of time tobsort out large scale ‘world changing’ mods.

Generally -if they are using games textures, whatever they change in settlements could mostly be a rotation… in the past we were most concerned about memory restrictions (eg skyrim on ps3 with 256mb of ram to play with had a hard time implementing heartfire etc…).

It should prove alright if they really do have jousting and festivals in the cards…

Ive worked in places developing toolsets.
If they get that part right everything else kinda falls into place.
Assuming game works.

Xbox one (not s), has very underpowered video chip and slightly less cpu (fairly equal to ps4 on that front)… making great use of esram for multiplats isnt a given, short of reducing graphical complexity of objects- but that would be a nightmare in ‘system wars’ if screenshots start going around that the xbox one isnt at parity to ps4.
Better bet would be to havr another step of less resolution (that would nearly donit perfectly).

Im not a fan of dropping down the ‘active area’ - especially when a games world is built expecting a certain amount.
A good example of this in recerse is looking at the eorld or segemnt sizes in The Last Guardian.
A game olanned for ps2-slipping to ps3 and then shopping on ps4 has some obvious limitations showing.
I have no problem if these things NEED to be done… but if pc ultra settings are ‘future systems’ seems a lack of foresight to cripple them preemptively
