Should our protagonist observe and/or participate in such activities as sort of mini-games. Some of them involve gambling and a potential for payout. Some of them would be used to gain reputation or slowly increase your stats like intelligence or agility.Invest in a side-business perhaps. Discuss

This is an awesome idea! Hawking would be fun, but I would love going to a play in the game. Probably too much voice work and motion capture to implement, though. That would be kind of a big investment.
Or heck, getting to watch a tournament. Or go to a dance. I’m all in.

I believe that things listed above are entertainment for higher class. In villages it would be dance and music mostly. Some physical competitive activities which clould be called sport. But hawking, hunting, feasts and other things might be out of league of our protagonist… atleast until he gains (if he gains) some better status.

This is of course just my uneducated opinion so feel free to disagree ot criticise me.

Well I was just about to create this topic, but thanks to the great system here saw it was already created :joy_cat: So I REALLY REALLY want to know what sort of games were played. I would indeed like some board games like mentioned above. Is anyone around here informed on the matter also @MadSmejki are you aware of the sorts of recreational activities that will be enjoyed by the people in Kingdom Come Deliverance?

Yep. (fourteen more letters)

maybe play a lute?
Or some instrument. And play it with a band?

All these sound great. What about some silly poor man’s dice game up towards a game of chess.

Great for pubs. @madsmejki you’re such a tease. "Alright then. Keep your secrets"
I’ll sit and ponder this topic silently.

I hope there is going to be gambling, for example rolling dices or any medieval card game! Playing chess would be cool also!

Board games were very popular even among the commons. Backgammon (“Vrhcáby” in czech from german “Wurfzabel”) in many variations - gambling mostly - was among the most popular. There were also special bone craftsmen (“kostečníci” in czech) for creating figures, dices and boards.

Sounds great, let’s have all of the forms of entertainment so that we will never get bored.

A freind of mine is a medieval/renaissance style minstrel. He’s very skilled and plays some quite entertaining songs.

I would love if you can play games like backgammon (realistically wurfzabel) or chess. There are some medieval books about these games like "Libro de los Juegos (Book of Games) by Alfonso X of Castile dated back to 1284.
Would be nice if we are able to watch some shows with wild animals and a tournament would be great, would be even better if you can participate in it. I would love to come across some random bard or a band with a lute player.
Not sure if you can realize these things but those are just Ideas

**Shogi!**Yes we need Shogi! (I’m not sure when Shogi or Go first came into creation, but if there were any Asian influences at this time it might be plausible for either game to be introduced within this setting)
