I hope that it will be realy hard get a good equipment. I mean this stuff was really expensive in medieval. Such a ringmail had a worth of many cows or pigs…
Yeah, and also not to get everything in main quest, but with a little side work atleast 
Yes good points. I agree. When it is too easy to get things it makes it more boring more quickly.

Do not forget that main hero is working for Lord and he has some money so he can equip his troops properly including our hero.

A decent sword was about a two month’s wages for the average medieval peasant. Generally in medieval armies, only the King, his personal guard, and vassal Lords had a full set of weapons and armour - everyone else had to make do with a thick cloth or leather coat, and whatever weapon they could scrounge from the farm and/or get hastily modified by a blacksmith. The PC is a blacksmith though, so he should be able to make a decent weapon and decent armour for a reasonable amount. Not saying it should be cheap, but he shouldn’t be able to get much change from a florin for a mail coif. (Mail coif = hood made of chainmail. Florin = gold coin worth 20 Groschen or 240 Pfennigs. Daily wage for a skilled worker = about 10 Pfennigs)
