Warhorse:

I. The blacksmith’s son has no knowledge of blacksmithing?

In the medieval period most male skilled trades were passed from father to son. This doesn’t mean the son always took up the trade when he grew up but it does mean that the son would, as a child, learn a lot of the trade as he grew up.

In this game we have Henry as the son of a very skilled blacksmith. Henry is anywhere between 16 and 20 in the game judging by his appearance/beard stubble/height.

…so how is it that Henry starts the game not knowing anything about blacksmithing?

Suggestion: Henry should at least start with moderate maintainance/sharpening skills.

II. Herb Gathering animation

This is one of the most irritating things in the game. Henry stands in a large field of flowers and herbs.

…and to pick them henry has to go through the harvesting 3rd person animation every. single. time. This is horrible.

Suggestion: Change it to a first person ‘hand grabbing’ animation. Like when you pick up the apples/pancakes/lentil soup from a table.

iii. Horse Riding.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. I can’t stress how bad the controls of riding a horse are.

Suggestion: Please copy MOUNT AND BLADE’s horse riding system.

IV. Autorun. Where is it?

There is no key to have your character keep moving forward…other than keeping the key pressed.

Suggestion: Could we please have a toggle key for ‘move forward’ ?

V. Polearm weapons

Yes, everyone knows the issues with polearm weapons…that you can’t store them in inventory or even ‘sheathe’ them so you can’t even walk through town with one before getting attacked by guards.

Suggestions:
A- Polearm should not be able to be stored in inventory. Its too big for that. However, it should be able to be stored in the horse.
B- To ‘sheathe’ a polearm, have the character put a piece of leather or cloth over the tip of the weapon and tie it. That would have your character moving around with a stick that has a cloth/leather covering the dangerous part. NPCs in town could be coded to consider it a sheathed weapon.

VI. Perks/skills and some items are … unrealistic and silly.

Seriously, was this some bad attempt at copying FALLOUT? Many perks and skills break immersion/realism. ‘Healing Potions’ ‘cure all poisons potion’ ? what the hell?

‘dog person’? Sorry a dog will bark if he doesnt know you. This is just silly.

There’s too many to keep listing. In essence, some of these are just so absurd they break immersion.

Suggestion: Review/redesign the perks. Honestly, things like ‘thickblooded’ are part of the unrealistic thing… there is no such thing as a human that bleeds less than another from an identical wound.

To your first point: Yes I agree. That always confused me how Henry had not basic knowladge of blacksmithing and maintenance. Even though in the torturial town when helping his father he clearly shows to have some knowladge about it.

To your third point: The controlls of the horse get better when you level up your horsemanship. As well if you buy a better horse and better equipment such as the saddle and spurs that make it easier to control the horse.
