Finish moves and variety

Hello guys.

I am wonder why there aren’t any finishing moves? I think a variety of fight endings are more realistic and immersive without change the mechanic or make less Fun.
Warhorse say each weapon has more than 2000 animations. But this 2000 animations seems more like 20. Maybe because there aren’t diffrent kill moves or finish moves.

My suggests implement first person moves (maybe slow motion) in the End of the fight. It just need few animations and the combat system seems smoother, more impacting, more complex, immersiv and more realsitic without
changing fighting time any mechanic or difficulty. The diffrent animations should be visible at every second fight but only when the enemys health is going to death.
The effort to implement this animations couldn’t so much and should looks very nice. I want to see impact and more variety. I want to see more realism in combat. In real life there are 1000 ways to kill your opponent.
In Kingdom come deliverance there is one (enemey goes down after common strike always in the same way ) Please fix that.

-fast combos like a jab with left fist a parried strike than a knee and stike again or something
-mordschlag

-drill sword through chest,

-diffrent fatal pommel strikes

-a fast sword combo which blocked but the last strike goes to the throat

-diffrent Takedowns and finishs on bottom

-strikes with the fist or head

-dirty attacks

-grappeling

-a fatal strike during a realistic turn

-get after a awesome dodge in the back of your opponent and strangle him

there a 1000 ways to kill someone, please implement at least few

Hi,
Yes there are no finishing moves, yet.
Because the version you can play right now is just an alpha. Where you can test some of the features.

Daniel Vavra confirmed on recent live stream that there will be finishing moves. So rest easy and have little more faith with devs.

This was already discussing. I hope they will implement it with a huge amount of variety

I agree the illusion of real combat would be better with complex finish moves.

I agree to 100 percent. They must implement this as soon as possible. I think the combat system would looks much better with it.

Maybe it will be in the beta, because in the livestream they said that the animations are already finished but not implement yet.

I hope there will be realy complex animations (some fast blocked attacks and than a fatal hit) and a real big amount. Skyrims killcam isnt realistic but the diffrent killmoves give illusion of a little more complexity. I imagine how amazing it would be if the killmoves be realistic and implement in a complex realistic combat system. It would be the most immersive combat in video games ever.

Where are the First Person killmoves and finish moves. The combat would look more immersiv if a fight would end in different ways

Warhorse confirmed that they want to implement killmoves. I hope they will. And dont forget Takedown animations for stealth system from all directions.

wouldnt it be great if warhorse made a anatomy system where you stab someone and it hits an organ so its an instakill

There is an instant knockout system from stealth in place right now, and there is a similar takedown dagger kill shown in various videos. I have also one shot killed people with an arrow or sword hit to the back of the head while they were out of combat.

And here is the proof:

My suggestion for kill/finish moves.

The main problem with the combat seems not to be the combat itself but what happens after combat. After couple succesful stikes or blows you have drained your opponents health close to zero and then when healthbar ends, opponents life seems to flee away leaving his ragdolly lifeless body to fall on ground. Errrm, yeah, don’t get me wrong I love how much mind and effort theres been but in combat system. It’s just halfway in beta now and next stage is to implement same techniques to how to finish off your opponent.

In battleground you dont see only lifeless bodies lying around. After succesfull duel, you have made your opponent unable to fight you back and now his suffering in front of you in pain. I propose the following:

  1. Five ways to kill In combat you are given five places to hit, head, left side, right side, lower left, lower right. The part that was hit when opponents healthbar reaches zero should be the one that takes him off but doesn’t kill him, it’s what makes him unable to fight. Forexample hit to left side causes opponent to fall on his knee in pain and hold his left arm, screaming “my hand”. Stabbing causes him to hold his chest or tummy and take few steaps screaming in pain. Hitting in head could cause him to fall on his back.

  2. Morale choise Here the player is given choise either to finish his opponent off or leave him to bleed and continue his battle against other foes. This way the battle field would be filled with suffering enemies too, not only dead ones. In quest situations a dialog could be opened, where opponent could ask for bandages to stop him bleeding to death or merely say “Just finish me already!” If player chooses to go for kill, he could strike opponent in the same five different directions, each of which would give a different ANIMATION. I’m saying animation, cause in combat physics are used, but in this situation an proper finish animation is more suited and would look much better.

  3. Armor Opponents armor should make difference first of all in combat. This has been discussed in different threads coming to a conlusion that armored fight is different from unarmored and need different combat techniques, which should be implemented to the game. Additionally armor should ofcourse make a difference in finish animations, to be suiting on the way of death. Unarmored foes would be striked in flesh, so that weapon reaches foes bones (Decapitation and dismemberment is not realistic unless you hack the shit out of your foe) and armored would be stabbed in armors joints, face, neck etc, or crushed with the force of a hammer

Hopefully you like my idea and Warhorse notices this. Cheers!
