First dialogue with Henry's Mother is invisible

I recently purchased the DLCs that I was missing, and decided to start a new game in Hardcore Mode. The intro cutscene plays out just fine, but the dialogue with Henry’s mother that immediately follows is bugged. The subtitles don’t display at first, and when they do show up they’re moved up too high and are partly outside of the black area at the bottom of the screen (which was not a problem during the cutscene). Furthermore, all of Henry’s responses are completely invisible; I can hit the Enter key and activate the first option, or press the down arrow followed by Enter to select other options, but since I don’t have their order memorized it’s just guesswork as to what the response is going to be.

The other following speech options seem to show up as normal, but there’s certainly a possibility that this bug will affect other conversations throughout the game. Changing the resolution to something other than 1920 x 1080 (which is my native resolution in Windows 10) seems to make the problem go away, but that’s not an acceptable workaround if this problem may crop up at other places throughout the game - I play literally every game I own in 1920 x 1080, and KCD doesn’t need to be the lone exception.

I’ve tried verifying the game files through steam, deleting the c:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\kingdomcome folder on more than one occasion (after using search engines trying to find a solution), but nothing works if the resolution is on my native setting.

I also got issues two times in two different version at this dialogue. I can’t describe what exactly happened but was bugged to a point I either had to wait longer after getting into game for dialogue to respond or had to restart game. I even think my loading screens are taking more time than previously. Not sure if it’s my computer getting obsolete so fast.

After experimenting a bit, it seems like my issue is tied to the HD textures - if I turn those off the dialogue seems to be completely normal at my native resolution. With them on, though, only lower resolutions seem to display the dialogue properly.
