What the title says. Found it increasingly odd that husbandry and wildlife was so well implemented in this game. Yet something as vital as a staple in the medieval diet appeared to be missing. It was even more frustrating that the the trader in Talberg was responsible for the upkeep of the pond weirs. Yet no fish were in sight anywhere? So I’m extremely relieved I was proven wrong.
Stumbled across a fish trap on the road from Talberg back to Skalitz. Harvested 2 trout in the stream beside the road on the road heading to the quarry. There was no option to fillet/prep the fish for cooking. So I figured I’d cook it at the next fireplace I ran across. But the community cookpot didn’t give me a crafting option to cook the fish. Only the standard fare like apples/veggies etc. So Hal has been stuck with this raw fish that’s progressively rotting in his inventory ever since. Which is annoying because of the 1 day freshness timer on it. Storing it in his chest at Rattay doesn’t stop the decomposition either. No ice boxes existed in this time frame. The only way to preserve raw fish was to eat it. So how to go about processing the fish as food?
Are you supposed to:
-
use it as a weapon? Sneak into an enemy camp/building and add it to a cook pot to poison bandits and other enemy NPCs?
-
Use it as an alchemy ingredient to make potions?
-
Use it to increase Henry’s charisma/speaking skill by gifting it to NPCs to positively influence them on quests?
-
Trade it as side quest to vendor NPCs like the Tanner/Herbalist who’ll pay $$ for it?
Basically, what the hell are trout and other fish used for?? Can’t find anything on this site or on web to date as yet.
