I deleted KCD and am redownloading whole package

Anyone on Steam who has not had the update auto-download. Close the application and restart it, worked for me.

After reading this thread I turned on my ps4 and checked for an update. No update. 
Then I decided to take some advice I read on one of these threads and delete the game and re-download it. Now it is downloading version 1.06. Is that right? Or am I on a different planet.
Updated on Xbox One (not X). Still get frame stutter, no where near as bad though, so props for the improvement. Testing the water to see if halberds etc despawn after x amount of time in game now.

I hope the next patch will make the HUD customizable, remove the black borders in dialogs, add mouse support in dialogs and volumetric fog.

Does this fix random encounters?
Random encounters were reportedly fixed sometime in the 1.4.x patch series for PC, so they should be working again.
