No, this is the absolute most “Vanilla” PC you could possibly have to test with. No 3rd-party bloat.
I completely disassembled the entire machine (every component was removed from the case). I throughly cleaned every component, inspected everything for possible damage in the name of Science, and re-assembled everything. I completely formatted my SSD and reinstalled Windows 10 1803 along with all the proper drivers for my hardware.
I have nothing installed on the machine aside from Steam, Origin, Battle.Net Client, Hardware Drivers, a couple of Games, and EVGA Precision (so I can monitor system utilization). I’ve used Display Driver Uninstaller (in Safe Mode) to purge different nVidia Drivers and I tested multiple versions of the GPU Drivers but there were no changes to report. I’m not using the nVidia GeForce Experience application, so there’s no forcing of any settings from there, either.
Every other game I have I get the same FPS that I always have. I ran 3D Mark Fire Strike tests and the results were what I’d expect. This issue seems to be directly tied to Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
I have the proper Power Settings applied so there’s no “throttling” taking place.
My friend hasn’t changed anything on his system, either, aside from the 1.5 Update to Kingdom Come: Deliverance. His FPS has also dropped to the point where the game is unplayable.
Also, as I mentioned in the Steam Forum, NPCs “pop-in” when I’m riding around. First their textures are very low-rez and then after a second they render in higher fidelity. And when I press “P” my avatar on the right of the screen takes a few seconds to render, and when it does begin to render, it pops-in 1 body-part at a time.
