FPS drops. Also spoiler alert!

Greetings,
------------------------------- SPOILER ALERT -------------------------

I’ve started playing and god damn is this game amazing. I tried to fight for the debt that is owed to my da’.
Got my ass kicked, tried stealing the bloody axe then got caught and died in jail…that was so damn unexpected…well fucking done devs. But along the way I’m getting insane amounts of fps drops, I tried on Ultra High, Very High, High and Medium but all the same the fps ranges from 35-60 constantly especially when I’m i nthe cneter of the village. My specs are as follows:

GPU: GeForce GTX 1070
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz
Memory: 16 GB RAM (15.92 GB RAM usable)
Current resolution: 1920 x 1200, 59Hz
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 10 Home

In game stuff and launch of the game…it’s not much of a big deal, I’m sure they’ll fix it eventually after the official release which is later in the morning or afternoon. Unless you’re an fps junkie, then in that case it must really be big deal for you.

I’m not, I’m just sharing information. On Fullscreen and medium it works much better. So far the game is fantastic…I cannot wait to get more in.

i had some problemes with the beta before installing it on ssd. What type of drive you use

I used SSD and HDD with Beta. Didnt made a difference. I could install it on SSD but i have to download it in order to do so. I had never success with moving games to another hard disk with steam. I hope a patch will fix it. If i read out the vram usage of my gpu it says that the game only needs 30-40% (2,5-3,2 gb). That is the same amount as in Beta. How can this be? Besides that I love the games so far

just to check: installed last nVidia drivers? (29.1.)

Yes, I have the latest Nvidia drivers. Man the game is fantastic…but these sudden fps drops…

On another note I’m also experiencing sudden screen freezes for about 5-10 seconds (maybe more) and now as I was riding a horse, got thrown off it by an enemy, I started walking in mid air.

I’m using Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB

actual i am not abel to test it on my own, i have to wait till evening.

Tho is it dropping only when you are loading new zone/graphics (fast horse ride) or even when you are in the same zone for a long time? I got most of the drops because of that, tho I have low Graphic.

For example I progressed past the first town now. I’m in the second castle, it’s night and raining and my fps while on the battlements is 28-35, while I’m i nthe courtyard it’s solid 60

I have just noticed something. I was on the battlements with other men…once they moved out I got solid 60 fps. I moved around to where the other soldiers are and the fps drops began again.

Yeah one way I was thinking about it, when they implement so many micro-AI management I fear half of the power you need will be used for this instead of graphics and there will be FPS drops, tho I can’t say it’s the real reason and not bad graphic optimalization.
I rememmber this specially from CS:Source when I played with BOTs vs. when I join MP server

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Rw7k6m7MD8&feature=youtu.be Here is a short video. Settings are set at very high. As soon as there is a more crowded area the fps dps drops quite a lot. The game is fucking amazing, from the little I’ve experienced so far, but sometimes the fps drops and the screen freezes can really mess up the combat.

I have this exact same combination and my game runs terribly in the village.

I was having the same fps issues. I have a 970 oc’d and a i7. pretty solid machine and my fps was around 30 on low settings. just got a ssd, fixed my issues.
