First off, I absolutely love the game. However, the longer I play, the more frequent my game crashes. This wouldn’t be such a big deal, but I’m losing lots of progress because of the save feature. I understand the intent of not saving often to make our choices meaningful, but the system is just unfair if our game crashes without warning often.
What platform did you playing on? I’m on xbox one x, the only crashed is when i’m selecting a quest log tab in the menu. Almost always crashed when i’m selecting that.
Well you have landed at the officual forum.
I am new here as well.
Not sure what your thread adds- threads exist here for identifying bugs, and discussing patches.
Some people like to complain as well- but beyond using these forums as a responsible way to have active discussion about the developers game (right under their noses)… the complaints (mostly from entitled youth who think that bad mouthing a product repeatedly is helpful) do not bring anything new to the table.
What we know…
Game has bugs (equivalent to any new release rpg), and a save issue (this is a biggie as many invested gamers are sad to lose their progress with their beloved character) and some performance issues in some places/on some systems.
These have been acknowledged by the devs and are ALL being addressed.
The devs have a few patches planned that will inturn address these issues; pressing issues first.
(Framerate optimisarion and graphical glitches being below bugs and saves file corruption naturally)
I appreciate you opening statement with ‘loving the game’, mayhaps these forums need a thread for sharing such. Did you check for any similar threads?
I only mention as itherwise forums get messy quickly.
Messy forums push relevant topics away from the spotlight and ‘casual posts’ that talk about serious things have a habit of turning to arguments as relevant poster repush their older threads salience on everyone (again).
Yes great game - I thoroughly enjoy it, as does the partner, and sometimes child. (Being an adult game I have to limit my twelve year olds exposure)
Would buy again if only to see the cryengine render a beautiful medieval world with such amazing attention to detail and design.
I agree with jlyles 1. Most of the games that I play on the Xbox One will have occasional and random lockups, but as I progress in Kingdom Come more and more actions result in the game locking up and resetting back to the Xbox home page. Most recently the game has begun to hard lock (60 % - 75 % of the time) when i access the ‘global’ storage chests found at many of the save locations (i.e. at Lodgings sites etc.). Needless to say this has turned an otherwise great game into a frustrating ordeal. An update to repair this problem will be greatly appreciated!!!
I’m playing on an Xbox one x. My freezes happen mainly during fast travel. Just trying to add my voice to the many saying the same thing
I play on PS4. Getting more crashes than before even though keeping save files limited. Still playable but seems to be risk of not waiting for patch 1.3
Yes sometimes this happened to me, when i’m fast travel far away (Rattay to Skalitz)
I’ve been having the same problem. I am on xboxone. The game did not crash at all for the first, idk, 60 hours or so, then it started. When I noticed it starting to crash for me was with the introduction of the v.1.2 patch. Now I don’t know if it was the patch itself or if I just coincidentally got to the part of the game that causes it to start crashing at the same time. I’ve been playing around with it and I’ve narrowed down the crashing to the ‘Map’, anytime I go to the map there is a 50/50 chance it will crash and if it doesn’t and I decide to fast travel, there is another 50/50 chance it will crash before it gets to the destination or upon getting to the destination. Also it crashes upon looking at quest logs sometimes, but only when I go down to quests where it has the map attached to it. So there is something with the map that makes it crash. This wouldn’t be a problem, only the world is big and the amount of quests that require you to go to this area or that area, I kind of have to open the Map pretty often, even when I’m trying to avoid it as much as I can. I too love this game, I love the creativity and the amount of things you can do, but the constant crashes are making the back half of the game very hard to proceed, too the point where I always have 20 crafted Savior Schnapps on me at all times in case I want to risk looking at the map.
has anyone found a soltion for this? i’m on update 1.6 now and am still crashing constantly in random areas, i’ve tried reducing video quality etc, have updated windows, updated my drivers, updated c++ and everything all of the other forums advice and videos have suggested and i’m still crashing constantly.
And what have you got overclocked?
This game pushes most subsystems hard.
Same overclocks that work fine in other titles moght thermally not sit so well whilst KCD flogs the beaast…
i have nothing overclocked, i’m running 2 gtx 1060 sli with oc turned off (the oc makes no visible difference to me anyway so i keep it off to conserve power), i have an asus thunderbolt motherboard which allows me to remove any oc from my processor, which i always keep off, and nothing else in my machine COULD be over clocked, i know this because i built it myself. i dont ‘need’ overclocking because the machine i built is good enough to perform marvelously without it. so no… it’s not an overclocking issue. thanks for thinking about it though. each card has 6 gigs of ram as well. i’m running 32 gigs of ram on my motherboard with around 30 usable. two samsung terra ssd’s and i can dual box heavy games resource heavy games with no issues. it has nothing to do with my machine.
Same here, nothing overclocked, directx and c++ updated, 13GB ram, GTX 1080Ti but the game crashes 5 minutes in the game. Any other game runs just fine.
