From the Ashes: Armor/Weapon Displays

I’m having a fantastic time with the DLC, but I just wanted to throw this idea out for possible inclusion in the future.

I absolutely love the clothing system in the game with all of its options for customization, and I think it would be great to be able to display some of our favorite outfits (and weapons) in our Rathaus! Think TW3’s Blood and Wine for reference.

I don’t think this was common practice (I’m not an expert on medieval decor), but I think it’d be neat, nonetheless —it would give that extra sense of personality and “home” to Pribyslavitz, and it doesn’t seem too difficult to implement.

Armory was considered to be very expensive possesion of either knight or even common soldiers, and in most cases when the soldier/knight was at age he could not fight anymore - soldiers were selling their armor, while knights and aristocracy could afford to keep it as a memento.

However, each knight does not had means to own more than one set of armor, thus only one armor stand was needed. Soldiers kept their weaponry in chests.

It became sort of fashion to display the armor sets in 16th century, when chivalry was thing of the past.

Its not hard to archieve that (turning NPC into a mannequin) but it would not fit the realism…

I’d like to see an armory where one could display weapons and shields.
The realism or historical accuracy be damned!

Henry has the means to procure multiple sets of armor whether by killing bandits or amassing ridiculous wealth. Your problem with armor stands seems to primarily come from the economy of the game being too easy to exploit than from the existence or armor stands themselves. As it is, it is too easy to amass a horde of wealth by selling bandit equipment and it is far too easy to get said equipment from bandits. Plate armor should be made much more rare and selling armor should be much less profitable.

As for armor stands themselves I think they are a good idea. I keep a set of “everyday” armor which is quieter and cheaper to maintain than plate that I wear everyday and only bring out my “proper” armor for special occasions. It would be nice to actually be able to display it rather than letting it languish in a chest.

No. I have only one favourite set of armor and one weapon, those are my body and fists… Joking.
But it makes no sense to put it away when you actually need it. Maybe some quest related things could be put or wild game but since nothing unique comes to my mind which is exclusive for showing. This would be very useless addition.

I have to disagree. Have you seen the “Show off your Henry” thread on here? There are hundreds upon hundreds of different combinations. I already have three armor sets in mind that I’d love to display: the Warhorse armor set, an Augsburg/Golden combination, and an Italian/Milanese armor set.

Display it on Henry then, not in some wall.
