Future Games from Warhorse

Just thinking about what warhorse will do after they are done with KC: D. I personally would love to see a game in which you play as a member of one of the Military Orders (Knights Templar, Knights Hospitaller, Teutonic Knights, Order of Santiago, Order of Saint Lazarus etc. (just a few I think of off the top of my head)) e.g. join and order and get sent of to Outremer and fight in the Crusades. obviously this would only happen if KC is a success and that Warhorse stay together.

what are your thoughts? and what sort of things would you like to see?

but saying this I also hope they don’t make the mistake Taleworlds did and make a pretty much identical game just to cash in (looking at you Fire & Sword)

I also hope that Warhorse will become immensely rich and famous on KC: D and keep producing amazing, historically accurate and realistic RPGs, but I am not opposed to them making something very similar, if the price is right.

I would actually love to see Act IV, V and more if they manage to come up with new content and locations and if they are 15-20€ a pop.
I would also like to see new content, be it DLC or standalone, which would depict the very same historical events, only from a different perspective. Something like Crysis Warhead, or Dead Island: Ryder White’s campaign. Of course not for the price of a full game.

Dan stated (if I am not mistaken) that Deliverance, provided it will be succesful, is just a beginning of the series about hussite revolution - period in which this “evil emperor” Sigismund who abducted his brother in plot of KC: D invades Bohemia several times leading crusader armies assembled from the whole Europe. So yes, you will propably be able to enjoy crusades, but rather in heretic country of Central Europe, not in Outremer  There should be plenty of Teutonic Knights and Hospitallers, but they will most probably be the “bad guys” (since the game is made by Czechs, who are extremely proud of this period of their history - they have repeatedly defeated the armies of the most powerful man in Europe afterall). Because of this, and because their game will be story-driven, I wouldn’t expect them to give us the possibility of joining the side of Pope and Emperor. Alltough it would be nice if they could manage this somehow storywise.

WFaS was made by an independent studio, licensed by Taleworlds.

and to answer the question, I’d love more realistic RPGs, maybe at some point one encompassing most of Europe and Britain? one can dream!

I don’t think there will be some bad guys and good guys in a simple way like this, at least I hope so. Dan said he doesn’t want it like this, afterall it is supposed to be realistic… And I would be careful about this “extreme pride” concerning hussites. It is surely interesting and important part of history, but it was mainly communist propaganda in the past which made them national heroes and it’s actually quite silly, because nationality had no importance at all at that war and they weren’t all that good and nice…

It’s interesting to think about. Though I am American through and through, my ancestry goes back to include Germany, Czechoslovakia and Hungary, though I don’t have the specifics handy. I know my grandmother on my mother’s side had the Czech ties (seems to be Czech more than Slovak, I think) and she could speak some of the language as well.

I wasn’t drawn to this project specifically because of who’s working on it or the areas things are set in relative to my own ancestry, but it’s a nice bonus.

Just to expand on that Warhorse’s3 plan seems to be, assuming continued success:
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Act I
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Act II
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Act III
Kingdom Come 2
Kingdom Come 3
(Names unconfirmed)

I don’t think they have said anything about 2 and 3 being split into Acts as well, I guess its a bit of a long way off.

I hope they go with sub-titles rather than being numbered, like Kingdom Come: Retribution or something, with Acts I, II & III as well. I like how it’s divided like that. Since history is often spread out over longer periods of time, acts could be good ways to kind of “fast forward” a little. Like when you play Act II, it could say “two years later” or something, and it wouldn’t feel disconnected. Kind of thinking of the Hussite Wars here, since it’s an important part of Czech history. It won’t be in Deliverance most likely, it’s too far in the future, but a sequel could have Act I could involve the execution of Jan Hus and deciding whether you feel support for him or for the king, Act II could involve the beginning of the wars ~5 years later and the death of Wenceslaus and the introduction of Jan Zizka, and Act III could involve the wars coming to an end many years later, the death of Zizka and perhaps even the death of Sigismund. It might still need even more Acts though, since the whole Hussite thing is spread over a big time span (~20 years.) If you are still playing as Henry from Deliverance, and if he’s around 20 in this game, then by the end of the sequel he would be an old and wise guy of ~50, hehe.

this is wrong. the game they want to do is still 2 years off and you’re talking about their next game? insulting.

Its not insulting its harmless speculation and if anything its a compliment since we are saying we believe they will still be around for decades to come. Get back in your box 213.

I hope they’ll make some kickass cyberpunk futuristic RPG one day  something like this one by cdprojekt red

I would love to see a roman time era real RPG… fingers crossed

Is it wrong to hope that Kingdom Come: Deliverance will do so good that they will consider making a sequel? And then speculating on what would be included in this sequel?

Dont think its insulting - it rather shows the great excitement about the project and the new approach. I think - as for any business - even if this project takes another 2 years you need a medium term planning, what comes after that and maybe … maybe they read through this to get inspired

For now I am just super impressed with what I read and see in their updates and I really hope they will have the time and possibilities to deliver the experience they want us players to have.

They already consider making a sequel, and I would guess it will be about hussites.

plenty of real history to draw inspiration from, and I hope Warhorse will keep that trend of realistic RPG going! we have so many other good or even great fantasy RPG games, I’m sure there’s plenty of room on market for the “niche” (or is it really) historic experiences. Roman times one would be amazing, as would crusades one, War of Roses one, European wars against Turkey or, really, any period of time, it’s not like we’re short on interesting military history!

Yep, I heard, and that’s what I think too.

I hope that they’ll continue with the KCD franchise and/or similar hardcore, realistic, historical RPGs (+ DLC etc. where appropriate), but make enough money to have two full time teams, the second of which would work on the spiritual successors to Hidden and Dangerous 2 ;).

I am hoping for a retro platformer exploring complex emotional issues.
