Do not run a robbery in the quest "Gallows brothers ". Someone solved this problem?
I have the same issue and I found some kind of workaround that I personally haven’t tried due to wanting to try this particular quest. I may save and try it out real quick.
EDIT: I was at a different point in the quest and it finished the Rock and a Hard Place quest but left a bunch of bugged out options for the Gallows brothers quest.
Spoilers ahead - ye be warned!
So, yesterday I spent whole afternoon trying this out, since both “friends” Matthew and Fritz really got on my nerves with their laziness and stupid life approach…
Anyway, in short and basic: If you want to save the payday for the poor miners, you got to hold hands of Matthew and Fritz the whole way until death in fight or gallows.
Accept the quest for quarry raid, inform innkeeper Andrew and tell Matthew the bloody innkeeper wants to doublecross them.
Agree to pin the act on the innkeeper, if you want Judas achievement, and agree to join Matthew and Fritz on the raid.
Perform the duties of the information gatherer, as if you were sincere, but obviously help the poor horses instead of making them even sicker.
Snitch to captain Robert at the very last moment, AFTER you have all the other prep work for Matthew and Fritz finished, but do not mention the Cumans (this would decrease amount of troops sent with the silver).
Note, that you have 5 days to prepare (information gotten from the stable boy on Talmberg).
Once all is done, you got to wait.
VERY IMPORTANT 1: although the silver is mentioned to arrive to quarry at NOON, it actually arrives at MIDNIGHT!
VERY IMPORTANT 2: if you save once Matthew and Fritz spawn (usually around the same time as when silver arrives to quarry), do not load this save! Matthew and Fritz will disappear for some reason and you can not find them anywhere. They might or might not be already in fight with the coin guards, or even killed already.
Safe way to save your progress is to save some time during the day before the pay arrives to quarry (When quest log displays “the pay arrives tomorrow”, and then use wait option as indicated below.
So, if you “fast wait” through the day, when your quest log is updated “the pay arrives tomorrow”, wait only until approx 23:00, then watch the quarry road from Talmberg (the one leading to actual quarry, not the one behind the creek) - you will see riders approach with foot soldiers as escort.
If you wait longer (some hours, I have not found any specific time frame for this), Matthew and Fritz might eventually take the matters into their own hands, and you will not see the fight in the quarry.
Let soldiers pass on to the quarry, either wait for the riders to return to Talmberg, or go straight to the top of quarry, where Matthew and Fritz can be found either at the camping spot, or looking down on the quarry, and tell them to charge head on.
With some luck, they get killed in the attempt, although they actually can win the fight with some luck. Do not engage anybody - if possible, stay in sneak mode and just watch. Do not enter the forbidden access zone.
If you want to preserve the coin for the quarrymen, you have to let the soldiers kill Matthew and Fritz. - quest finished, return to Andrew and be done with the morons.
If you want the Judas achievement, there are multiple ways to do that:
Please note: If you have a quest from Andrew to meet Black Lukesh - you HAVE TO finish this quest line before Judas achievement, or it will fail (Andrew ends up on the gallows)!
Option 1. tell Matthew and Fritz to charge head on, sneak around and steal the coin (you can return it immediately, or split it with Matthew and Fritz later, if they survive). This will get you the needed sack. Place the sack to the inn cellar, snitch to Robert on all three, finished.
Please note, it happened to me, that if I stole the coin during the fight (or distraction, see option 2 here below), Matthew and Fritz disengaged and made a run for it. You could possibly meet them at the clearing later, but I have not explored that option, since I returned the money to the quarrymen.
Option 2. Tell Matthew and Fritz to distract the guards with their fight, sneak around, get the coin (return it), get the sack, etc. as 1.
Option 3. Do not tell Matthew and Fritz anything, sneak around, steal the coin, get the sack, etc. as 1.
Needless to say, your quest log will show that you actually stole the coin (which is true, even if for a short while just to get the sack).

I have been told to wait by Robard & nothing happens. I am going to put the game down for a few months & hope they sort out the constant stream of bugs & breaks. Shame, as I love the game, but its not working right…
Well, Robard will always tell you to wait. There is 5 days to wait until the horses get well (or die). Actually, 4,5 days, see my post above.
Robard will not take action until actual coin delivery to quarry.
The quest works, just in reaaaaaaaaly slow way.
Yes, I imagined there would be a waiting period, but I waited for nine or ten days & nothing happened. Cant speak to Robard, or the horse trainer either. I think because I went straight to Robard after speaking to Andrew, my quest has died. Thank you for your comment though. Appreciate the thoughts.
And are you able to return to Matthew and Fritz? And take it from there? I think I was able to speak to the Talmberg stable guy after I accepted to go on raid with Matthew and Fritz.

There is an option to warn Matthew, however I dont want to do that. The two little asses have it coming. I will test it tomorrow though & see what happens. 
Yes, but “warn Matthew” is meant in the quest to warn him about Andrew´s plan to betray them. Not about Robard´s intervention for coin transport protection.

This quest is an abortion, I have restarted it 3 times and it doesn’t work (Ps4) there’s no dialogue option when returning to Andrew to tell him about the delivery. Robard says to wait for him at the quarry, however even 15 in game days later no one shows up. And the chest that has the groschen in it is always empty, except when you restart the game and get to this quest, then it’s got items in it but no groschen.
Thought the new patch would fix this but sadly I was mistaken, I just want the trophy so i can move on from this broken game…

I warned Robard and it’s got to the point were Matthew and Fritz are overlooking the quarry but haven’t done anything yet, will see if they attack at midnight.
After taking forum member Balduins advice, I warmed Mathew about Andrews betrayal. I then told him I wanted nothing to do with it & rode off to warn Sir Robard. Matthew & Fritz then travelled to Talmberg & waited overlooking the quarry. I think it took four days waiting & they then turned up to rob the place at midnight. So, I got the outcome I wanted. Only issue I found was that it was raining at night & the rain comes down like I am playing Minecract, lol. But the pixelled graphics isnt a big deal. Cheers for the advice Balduin. i have no idea what happened because nothing seemed to happen at the quary so i just wandered off, but later i did discover fritz alive and he has apparently become a soldier. how did this happen
still can’t finish this on xbox one help!
this is so frustrating
At first I wanted nothing to do with this so I told Matthew I would not help him. Later I talked to Andrew then went and told Matthew about the double cross and decided to help them and blame Andrew. I took the 3k for the miners but it shows in the quest log I don’t have the bag so I cant plant it back at the Inn, Matthew and Fritz wont take the money either. Not sure if by telling Matthew no at the start messed this up for me
found out that i was doing the gallows brothers too early even before the main quest. make sure fritz and matthew gets an armor for the rock in the hard place quest. btw dont pin the crime on andrew he is essential to the siege quest “beer for morale” the talmberger achievement.
I am still a little sad about mathias fate if its a bug on merhojed after the plague. he just lies there and you can’t interact with him.
