Game does not start on steam

Hello,

I have a problem with the game on Steam. Unfortunately, the game does not start for me

I bought it on the site … when it was still in beta. Yesterday I connected my account with steam and I loaded the game in advance. I have now reinstalled three times but the game still does not start. There is always the same error message:

""There is an error while updating Kingdom comes: Deliverance (content file locked) E: \ Games \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ KingdomComeDeliverance \ Bin \ Win64 \ KingdomCome.exe

Check for errors did not work either.""

Which I do not understand. He loads 31 gb down. but there are only 4 empty folders in the destination folder. Nowhere else on the PC is anything to be found.

Support was already shouted

I also apologize for my english. Unfortunately it had to write with the google translator.

Thank you and best regards

Hey gold, Im having the same problem, though i could install it and run it (played 5 hours already) but with the new update it wont run, looks like its finding an error on the kingdomcome.exe file…
If you have any news or could resolve the issue please tell me,
Thanks

Hey Ragnar,

This can also be a problem of steam. Have now discovered that he has not saved me in the specified destination folder, but in the download folder.
Steam \ Steamapps \ downloading \ 37523 \ and there was the ini file in it. It could then gamble for 3 hours. In Steam itself is indicated that the Ini an error has occurred. But now strangely, steam has deleted the ini again. is no longer to be found. So again downloden. -.- I could not move the Ini file with Administrator right. Very weird. I’ll keep you up to date when I found out again. Or has it worked for you meanwhile?

Hey, i think i found a workaround for this.

  • Shut down steam
  • Rename the win64 folder to something else (found at "Steam \ steamapps \ common \ KingdomComeDeliverance " )
  • Now you should be able to insert the “kingdomcome.exe” file into the renamed win64 folder (.exe found at “Steam/steamapps/downloading”)
  • Rename the folder back to win64
  • Start steam and launch the game.

Try doing this with steam running if you cannot find the .exe file or rename the win64 folder, it should work as long as you end up with kingdomcome.exe being in a folder named win64

Many thanks for the help Jantsi,
it worked differently for me now.

Instead of installing it on my E drive, I’ve now packed it on the C drive. There, the Exe was installed in the Steam folder.
