Game FAQ | Plus questions about the game

Hello all!

I’m new here and just joined. I’ve been following the game via YouTube and Webpage for some time now, and i am intrigued to get the game. But i have some questions that i didn’t seem to find an answer to so far. Which also brings me to the title of my topic, which is that i think this website should have a proper FAQ page. (At least i couldn’t find one)

Anyway, there are two questions which have been on my mind lately before making my choice to buy this game.

First question would be;

I have heard that once you purchase the game from the website here you get the chance to play the beta, which is only available through a downloaded from this site. How is this once the game is released? Will i get a steam key for the full game? Or will the full game also only be available through a downloader/custom launcher, which works outside of steam? (Because i like to have all my games collected and available on steam, i don’t like external games that are scattered over a dozen websites or other software similar to steam)

Second question would be;

i have read something about acts, what does that mean exactly? Will this game be released over several acts, and i have to purchase each one for 50 bucks? Or would the second act be the sequel to this game, which maybe comes out in 2 - 3 years? Or is the second act a DLC? Or what is it all about? That’s one thing that has me very skeptical so far, and been keeping me from buying this game.

That’d be all.

Thanks!

Hi Wotan.
If you click on the 3 horizontal bars next to your portrait in the top right of screen you will find FAQ there.

I think OP was meaning more a FAQ about game elements. The FAQ mentioned in the above reply falls under the meta category and only answers questions about the forum itself.

@Wotan Wish I could help ya dude. I’m pretty new too, and have been wondering the same. Hopefully someone helps soon.

Hi @Spenny
yes that is correct, i was asking about an FAQ about the game itself, not the forum. Something that’d answer all common questions about it.

I suppose i have found some sort of answer regarding my first question, which is on the “about the beta” page, where it says
"The Beta version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance is accessible through our custom made installer. If you are an eligible Kickstarter backer, then you already received a code to download the game on Steam, or you can gain Beta Access on your Profile page."
I am assuming this means i will get the full version on steam once it’s out. Even though it’s still a little unclear to me.

But my second and bigger question is still in the air. I hope someone can help there.

Because basically, i don’t even know what i am buying here. For all i know it could be something like those The Walking Dead Telltale games, where you have to buy episode for episode if you want to keep playing. Which was really expensive at the time when it was new.
So if i buy act 1 here for 50 bucks, does this mean the game and the story will end somewhere-in? And i have to buy the next act to continue? It’s a little shady. Nonetheless i really like the way this game looks, and i’m all over the historically accurate RTS anyway. And honestly i can’t wait for some answers so i can finally buy. LoL.

Greetings!

Each act is a full game in itself with a story beginning, middle, and end.

Each game is an “act” because it tells an over arching story. Think more of a trilogy versus story chapters.

Just further to what @McWonderBeast has already stated, it’s not episodic. Think more Mass Effect trilogy, whereby we follow the story from the perspective of our protagonist Henry over the course of three separate but interconnected games, called Acts here.

Sweet?

Hi guys! And thanks @McWonderBeast & @Earl_Thorn for the info! I was really hoping it’d be like this. Not disappointed!
:slight_smile: I think i am able to light-heartedly buy the game for myself now. But i’m just curious now, was that information something i’ve missed on the website? Or was that from a developer talk video? Or where did you hear about it? Just curious like i said.

Thanks again! :slight_smile:

Hi there @Wotan
Source of this information is probably from here (forum) sometime after the kickstarter campaign.

Also it is written on the kickstarter page

Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Act I, as it is planned, is a full scale, stand-alone game. It has 30+ hours of gameplay, complete open world map, all quests and closed story line. Most (if not all) game mechanics described above will be included: horse riding, combat, castle sieges, there will be at least one large-scale battle. Acts II & III extend the story, add new environment in separate maps, new quests, gear and weapons. They will also add new quests to the map of Act I. It will be possible to travel between maps of all Acts, some quests will require you to visit all of them.

We definitely intend to make Acts II & III and release them as soon as possible. However, our funding and schedule does not reach past first Act. We will finalize our plans for the release of Acts II & III when we get closer to the release date of Act I. For these reasons we don’t want to offer and promise them as a Kickstarter reward in their own right. We want to use them as a token of our gratitude to higher tiers backers, but you should think about it more like 100% discount offer than a guaranteed reward.

Hi @ProkyBrambora Wow cool thanks! Sound even better now! And sounds like it will be massive. Off to the buying section i go! :smiley:
