I’ve invested a lot of hours into this game since it’s been released. Made plenty of progress and was eager to finish it to the end.
I cleared out the bandit camp for the ‘nest of vipers’ quest by myself, miraculously. Plundered every corpse and chest in the camp, hopped on my horse and headed to Rattay to sell my spoils.
It was night and I didn’t want to chance my horse flying off a hill and getting me killed, so I saved to make sure nothing could take such a sweet victory away from me. Sure enough, after getting ‘float’ stuck for the hundredth time in a creek and after colliding with the millionth impenetrable bush, my horse decides to take a five-foot ‘death drop’ and bam! Game over.
No problem, saw this coming, saved moments ago. I even cackled out loud, proud of my own foresight. Hit continue and…‘Game Load Failed’
Dude…
Checked online, noticed that this is a problem without a solution, a problem that’s quite common and you literally did nothing to warn your consumers about.
Decide to cut my losses, load a save three hours prior, it worked, great. Do everything again except clear out the camp by myself cause I didn’t have the patience to do that ever again. Save my game and quit just to be sure there was no funny business. Hit the load button and…‘Game Load Failed’
Seriously? That’s how my boy Henry’s story ends?
I’m assuming there’s no patch that can ‘uncorrupt’ a save file right? Cause there’s no way I’m starting from scratch just after investing so much time into it. Obviously not as much time as you the creators have, but still.
It upsets me greatly that you couldn’t warn your consumers that such a bug exists and that you released your game despite it existing. Your marketing did an absolutely amazing job promoting the game and making people aware it exists but, PR wise, I had to find out such a game breaking bug exists from multiple other users experiencing the same thing who haven’t received any closure.
Not gonna lie guys, I genuinely feel robbed that I spent time and money into something I’m never going to finish because of something as weak as ‘Game Load Failed’.
