Game will not start

Ok, so I have read alot of the posts on game not starting.

When I click play the game launches and goes into a black screen. Thats it. nothing more. I have to Ctrl Alt Delete to exit.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1
GeForce GTX 650 TI with updated driver

I have tried to run as admin for game and steam.
I have repaired and re installed VC2013 Package

Any help would be great. I have been reading forums for a couple hours now so don’t think I haven’t researched before this post. I have tried all the recommendations I have found.

DxDiag.txt (26.0 KB)

Trying an older driver now.

Didnt work. =(

@Hound can you take a look at this thread and maybe tell Tomas if you don´t know about a solution?

@Warriorofash, don´t worry, help is on the way. :hushed:

We did check the DxDiag and everything looks in order :frowning: Were you able to launch the game previously or this is the first time you are attempting to launch the game? Did you try deleting the “user” file from the install directory?

This is the first time im trying the game. And no i didnt not delete that file, ill look for it.

Edit, I looked but I dont think I have one yet. The user_game folder is empty

Well, since you haven’t played the previous versions of the game, it’s no biggie as it contains saved settings and such :frowning: which shouldn’t be present if this is the first time you are playing. At the moment I can recommend you the good old Reinstall/Verify integrity game cache in steam. Nothing else comes to mind as of now :’( .

Ok, I have tried that twice, however ill do it again. This is the black screen that pops up.

Ok so i deleted game content, installed it back , verified files. same result.

I get this window for a few seconds

the this window, and it stays there. Its almost as if somthing is blocking it.

Ive tried just about everything I can think of. Ive checked my virus protection, its not being blocked. Reinstalled multiple times, verified multiple times, updated GPU drivers, Re downloaded W7 SP1, the only other thing i can think of is re installing steam but im not sure if it would help. Im out of ideas. I hope you can think of something as I would like to try this game.

WTF, ok i uninstalled the game and steam. Installed steam , game, verified, and got the same damn result.

So ima bump this because I still have not been able to play the game. Anyone???

We are taking care… we are working on the porblem. Right? @Hound @Woody

Unfortunately you are the first person with this particular problem, we checked the data you gave us but couldn’t find any problem or anything strange. But don’t worry. Our programmers are now trying to investigate, but with Beta around the corner they are really busy :frowning:.

But it is very possible your problem will vanish entering the Beta stage. I know this is not an elegant solution but this is everything we can do at this very moment (without having your rig at the studio). Btw, you have a relatively weak graphics card. It COULD be possible that this affects the current state.

That hw configuration uses Intel CPU and Geforce GPU. We have never had such an issue before. NVIDIA GPU’s are used on almost every machine we are working on, so it’s heavily tested. My notebook is using similar configuration with GTX650m (noticeably slower then 650Ti) and the game works. Yes, it’s slow, but reliable. Without the particular PC, we can’t fix something we are not able to repro.
