General Quality of Life and Realism Improvements

I’ve read almost all pinned posts and hence being aware this might not reach the eyes of those in charge, but i thought it is worth to discuss the “quality of life” and realism improvements in the game.

The One (pun intended) which bothers me most is obviously “1 HOUR” slowdown on the time wheel, which is completely unnecessary. I know the saying from many cultures stating how last hour is the longest hour, but in this scenario and after you saw it for 1000 time already, it is just a chore. Did you guys ever heard about User Experience?

Moving on, the fast travel, while interesting concept at the start of the game which i looked forward to every time i had to travel, is turned to be yet another chore i need to get trough. Kingdom Come has the slowest fast travel i ever saw in the game and going from one corner of the map to another can take minutes. Really? I can go faster with Tier 5 horse from point A to point B then to travel with “fast travel”.
I’m not saying it should be removed. It is actually very good concept i salute, but for the love of God, kind Sir’s, please make my figurine move way faster then it does.

For the game that insist on “realism” i find it to be done quite poorly. It is realistic only when it likes to be, while in other cases is mostly not.
For instance, i find it quite odd for NPC’s to start working from 9am. It makes no sense. Are you telling me people in 15th century were sleeping till 8:30am? It’s ridiculous. They were getting up with first sun rays or even earlier, i can bet all my hard earned Groschen to that.
As for stolen goods, how does the trader know i have hot stuff if no one saw me stealing them? I would agree they would be at least suspicious if i show up in rags trying to sell some expensive ring or have bad rep, but when knight in shiny armour with awesome rep tries to sell some gambeson… where is the suspicion in that? Or they have X-ray vision over entire map and can see me stealing in other town… stupid, is what it is.

What do you guys think of it? Have you found any annoying chore or a realism conflict in your gameplay? How do you deal with it?

I agree with this. I sometimes go to the sword smith at 10 o clock and he still sleeps for some reason. Everyone seems to sleep until 10:00 for me which is ridiculous. Also on the side where are the crossbows?

Fast travel is slow, cus it’s not just teleports you, it’s accelerates the day doings for NPC and AI. They’re living, so they’re just accelerating, when you’re sleeping, waiting and etc. Every NPC having his list of doings and professions. Someone going to work at 6 and going to home at 21, someone at 10 and going home at 18 etc…

Adding the line to the upper comment, cus this site doesn’t want to let me edit my message, so:
*It’s accelerates working of NPC and AI.

When you do fast travel Henry isn’t teleporting, he’s ruled by AI moving on the map, so he’s actually moving and can meet random events. Like ambush and etc. So, they won’t change it. You can wait for moders, that will make him teleport in no time, but this version of fast travel is needed for proper working of the game and having features with it.

I disagree

If Bethesda made NPC acceleration to work in Skyrim with player teleporting while fast traveling including the relatively short loading screen back in 2011, on obsolete engine, a several years younger technology could do the same and better.

As you can see, I don’t mind the general idea of the fast travel implementation in the game, it would just be nicer if animation is a little (more actually) faster.

Adding on top of the upper comment, i just had a mission (no spoilers) which involves fast traveling after a certain set of replies. Fast travel happens automatically after the dialog is over and it performs 3-4 times faster than the normal fast travel.

So, it is possible after all.

Bethesda had rather non complex ai compared to this. These ai react to the environment, so the game has to take into account of many more factors than skyrim.

Although when fast travelling I do wish that it would load the area im going to first so that way when i get there its already loaded instead of waiting once you’re finally there. Especially when you have scout 3 and can avoid everything. I also wish this about skipping time. What I do is over calculate the clock and stop when I want, I dont like the last hour deal.
