Get items back from horse?

was able to transfer items to horse when overloaded…now…how do i get them back?

Go to your inventory and you can select horse from the top menu (third option along) - it works the same as your own inventory, you can select items and move back to yourself. On PS4 it’s R2 or L2 to move to that category and the square button to move items back to the player. Don’t know about other mediums though.
