at the start of the game if you wanna use mods, console command up your lock picking for very hard and stealth up a bit. Then go upstairs above the grocer. There are 2 chest in the palace that have 20K groshen EACH; they aren’t gonna need it soon anyway and don’t let the cumans have it!
EDIT: AND USE RICHER MERCHANTS MOD.
i have opened every chest in Skallitz and picked every Groschen. I don’t play with mods. The chest in the house of the grocer with very hard lock is empty. I have started my game after release of patch 1.4.1. Do u use any mods?
richer merchants mod set to 20K ( was 10K a run before)…guess that where it comes from. They have the coin on them and looks like in their stash.

On 1st ever play thru they had piddly amount on them for trade so went for the mod.
Ya, ya I know : why didn’t just give yourself the coin…greedy as fantasy dwarf. I guess.
