It seems like if you do not train weapons the first chance you get, you’re not able to train again until 15 saves later. I did the basic training with bernard which prompted me to shooting arrows with Hans. So the natural transition of the game led me away from training into archery, and then hunting with Hans. Hans gets captured by bandits, and it immediately brings me into the segment where I get a horse, and I have to follow Bernard to the burned down village that was raided. This is where the issue starts because Bernard leaves Rattay and is just gone for what seems like an eternity. I’m probably 10 saves later, on the mission called “My Friend Timmy” and Bernard still hasn’t returned to the training station. I can’t train my character. I don’t understand. And yes I understand that he doesn’t arrive until the noon. He’s still not here. I’ve checked for several days and he’s not returned. At what point can I start training weapons again? I’m like skipping all of the dialogue because I need to train my character and I it’s frustrating me. I just want to finish quests so I can go back and check to see if Bernard has returned, and each time he hasn’t. This game drives me up a wall.

Just think about it, if I follow the game through it’s natural progression, this is where it takes me. I would have had to fail a mission and train with Bernard instead. Why? Is this just bad writing? I don’t remember when Bernard returns .
