Give us harder enemies

In this corner… with low level, low combat stats, weak armor, and weak sword… the son of a blacksmith with virtually no combat training… HENNN - REEEE

And in the other corner, dressed in full plate, with a devastating longsword, with extensive combat training fitting for a knight… the WAYFARING KNIGHTTT!

And it’s at a point where I haven’t even learned master strikes yet. In my other playline, with full plate and a good sword, I bent this dude over and paraded him around the nearest town.

I agree that the combat is way too easy. You have to also take into consideration that some people think it’s way too hard.

I think some sort of difficulty setting would be best. Or perhaps more skilled and challenging wayfarers, as you defeat them, or tournaments. Something to give us some challenge.

Some Cuman should be absolute beasts. Not bullet (sword/arrow) sponges but have optimized techniques (combos, perks, equipment)

See, there’s that stupid Cuman Killer perk that makes them easy to kill, though. It’s literally a 50% damage bonus. It’s retarded as all hell.

yes, it is. until the combat system gets reengineered, the Cuman beasts should get a corresponding Bohemian killer perk

I’ve found that the major problem is the scaling of weapon damage from your skill with that weapon type. It’s actually fairly easy to mitigate. The value in question is “SkillToDmgConstA” found in rpg_param.xml. Default is 70, changing it to around 200 or so drastically lowers the amount by which your weapon damage rises with skill. There is still some increase, and perks still affect weapon damage, so progression still happens but it isn’t nearly as ridiculous. Combine that with some changes to the stamina, like those found in the nexus mod “Harder enemies - Enemy Health and Stamina Overhaul”, plus changes to enemy AI to make them more aggressive, and you have a game that remains challenging throughout. I’ve personally tested this and it works excellently.

You mean this Bernard? Don’t worry about this Bernard.

Still low level, still have low combat stats, still have low armor stats. And I think Bernard is one of the toughest opponents in the game. And if I can do this to him in the early levels, what does that say about the majority of bandits and Cumans that you face who are nowhere near Bernard’s skill level?

wonder if by making perks such as Cuman killer has WH over complicated the combat mechanics

WH team member replied in another thread that they’re going to make higher level enemies harder and more aggressive, as well as add tougher enemies. That’s a start.

One problem they mentioned though is that many people sitll find the combat difficult. I say F 'em.

i’ve had a good number of Cuman and bandits just quit and stand there. i was playing cat and mouse as horse archer. the AI quit. easy kill. like the loot but that’s not a good design

A good solution to that is to just make the difficulty curve a little less steep, but higher in the end. The problem is that people aren’t used to the systems. Give them a chance to learn how to fight, then challenge them.

Outside of AI aggressiveness, that’s another thing that needs to be fixed. Sometimes enemies will just stand there while you fight one of their own. That itself is a bug. Then, beginning at mid-levels, they begin to give up easy, or they would run away leaving their teammate behind. That part is intentional, although they definitely need to tweak it for the sake of fun.

You are cool, but are u banned on youtube? 0.44 it’s my limit than the video stops.

No, i just found streamable to be easier and faster to upload vids to

NPC hestitation has 2 issues: (1) too much. Needs to be trimmed. (2) animation. If the intent is to simulate fatigue, dealing with pain, etc, fine. Change the animation to defensive posture (suitable to weapon and surrounding opponents) or at least bent over with hands on knees. The NPCs just stand up like statues

Great attitude. quit tootin’ your own horn.

This guy wants quicksaves alongside this, so it’s not like he wants the game to be difficult or anything

Oh boy, here we go again
