God damn motion blur D:

Well, it’s Cryengine game…I suppose motion blur will be there D: …guess I have to suffer it again >.<, but the game is so damn awesome, that I may not even notice it.
I couldn’t play Crysis, even though I turned motion blur ‘‘OFF’’ there still was blur of some sort…

Does anyone actually like motion blur? What’s your opinion on it?

if you turn off motion blur, it’s off. you’re probabaly experiencing depth of field. i turn motion blur off in human character games. i turn it on for vehicles simulators.

depth of field i always leave on. it adds a nice visual feedback, and can look cinematic in cutscenes.

Even with motion blur turned off, it still was little bit blurry when moving camera

I find motion blur to be a neat effect, but mostly overdone in games. It seems that the devs of games that use motion blur use too much blur that settles too slowly to show that the effect is there, otherwise it is not easily noticeable. I imagine that the folks doing the parameter tweaking don’t particularly enjoy the setting, but are told by marketing folks to increase it or ‘it’s not worth putting it in at all’.

If Kingdom Come developers can strike a balance where the effect is there, but does not impair the player’s sight more than in real life, then I will be all for having it.

i don’t like the camera turn motion blur, i prefer motion blur that just applies to fast moving objects(running people, swinging axes, projectiles, etc). i think it would be helpful and great if they could make the camera turning motion blur an option.

Yet another pointless visual effect from the “so real!” school of frustratingly fake immersion defying effects… If your visual acuity is so impaired you think motion blur is realistic, it’s probably time to visit a medical professional…

Sounds more like a weak GPU. As 213 said, when you turn it off it’s off.

Well, I was playing Crysis2 on my old pc, so yeah maybe.

I think I’m gonna install it once more and try it again.

I love motion blur. Can barely stand a 60fps game without motion blur, and still prefer 30fps titles with it too. Thankfully, games from Naughty Dog and titles like Mass Effect are using it well.

i’m maybe a little odd but i like it, if my pc can run a game in 60fps or more then i really like to add motion blur to a game ^^

they use it because they need it. as you said, it helps the terrible performance and visual issues in crap like naughty dog games.

I dont think they make crappy games…Uncharted 3 was masterpiece, it looked so beautiful, story was fun, entertaining and engaging, gameplay was smooth. Haven’t played Last of us, but everyone is saying that it’s great game and reason why buy ps instead of xbox.

People who call obviously well-produced media that has been universally well-received don’t come off as very credible.

Motion Blur is a choice to emulate film’s visual aesthetic in games. It is added to many games that run at 60fps plus. But I hope that not even you take the suggestion that Naughty Dog makes “crap” games that are examples of “terrible performance and visual issues” as a serious statement.

naughty dog games come with a plethora of bugs, not to mention absolutely terrible ai, bland gameplay derived from gears of war. just goes to show how games are judged based on popularity and how close they resemble hollywood movies rather than actual quality. those awards are definitely handed out by clueless casuals.

the fact that the last of us received so many goty permanently devalued that category. no one who is serious about quality, objective, and not under the influence of mass psychology is going to take that award seriously anymore. maybe that’s a good thing. i mean look at this:

and look how awful this is. jump on caravan, fight, shoot, jump back on horse(lol), rinse repeat. worse than call of duty:
