Hmmm, thanks for the comparison. Iāll stick with vanilla, thanks all the same.
See, that volumetric fog makes the air look too much like the US Gulf Coast, which is where I live. Due to a combination of perpetual extreme humidity and whitish dust from Africa tinging the sky due to this area being in the āHorse Latitudesā, the summer air in this area looks just like what that volumetric fog does.
And thatās the problem. Iāve never been to Bohemia, but I imagine the air there to look very different from my own. After all Bohemia is in the middle of another continent, not right next to a tropical sea, and not in the āHorse Latitudesā. Besides, when the air looks like this, itās stupidly hot and nasty outside, so everybody goes around in shorts and sandals, not heavy clothing.
But thatās just me. I suppose that if you live in an area with clean, clear air, then vanilla would look too much like home to you, and youād want the volumetric fog to make the game seem more exotic
Hi, volumetric lighting and fog in the beta was still better and they hid sharp boundaries in the long run from what the picture looked more natural and atmospheric. (ŠŠ¾Š“пиŃŃŠøŠŗ Ń ŃŠ²Š¾ŠµŠ³Š¾ канала)
It just looks so much better enabled, gives it alot of depth and atmosphere.
having played with volumetric fog on and off with āe_VolumetricFog = 1ā in the user.cfg and toggling it on and off via the console, like any VFX, if its over done it looks crap, and volumetric fog is no exception in this game, there are times when it looks ok, but far more of the time it looks crap and unrealistic, beside that fact that you can see further at the screen edges than at the screen centre which is very noticeable when high up looking over a large panorama/vista, like looking from Rattay castle walls north over the horseshoe curve of the river, simply as there is no vertical exponent to volumetric fog amount that makes it hang in low valleys with rivers in etc in early mornings while higher up it be more clear.
It needs to be calculated in right moments. To have it turned on all the time - no point. After the rain or storm itās a good thing, at morning after rain and etc.
This contains console commands, as well as other things. Search for āwh_ā to find Warhorse commands. It remains to determine which command lines are responsible for the graphics
if your suggesting my post was bullshit and that e_VolumetricFog = 1 is not a console command usable via the user.cfg or the console itself, then I suggest you try it, as not all console commands are prefixed with wh_.
