GTX 1080Ti (390.77 WHQL Driver), i7 7700k @4.6Ghz, 16GB 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM, SSD. 1440p Performance unacceptable. Framerate drops in the 30-40s. Immersion breaking NPC, Object, Textures pop in at max settings, brief load before conversations, Microstuttering

Everything points towards it. By now, we have enough evidence. In this thread alone, countless people with 1080 Ti and 1080 and even a few 1070 have all reported those same issues while 900 series owners are saying the opposite…
It would help if you guys help the thread on Nvidia’s forum gain some momentum so that they can look into it:

That’s a very convenient way to avoid spending time optimising.

Glad to see that by now we have had more than a dozen people with 1080Tis and recent i7 processors reporting horrid performance. The developer’s statement to PC Gamer: “Ultra settings was not meant to be playable on current hardware” makes me laugh. Warhorse cannot deny this and still not a single post from the developers who i know for a fact are lurking on the forums :smiley: So the buggy, flashing indoor lighting and shadows that cause framerate to plummet when you are in close proximity are “next gen” right?

Improvements will come, hopefully :wink:
They weren’t able to finish optimisation before releasing the game.

I hope that is the case and not “Ah well, only next gen will be able to run Ultra High kk, bye”

I don’t think so, I think that they are concerned about their game after 4 years working hard on it. That being said, I don’t know how much they will be able to improve performances with their actual team.
As for modding, I’m already sure that talented modders will improve textures ans shaders for sure when modding tools will be released later.

Have you ever thought that perhaps the developers are busy fixing, well, the bugs? They’re aware of these issues and are fixing them. I’m not surprised that the developers aren’t posting on this thread. Responding to you is like poking a bee hive.

In the meantime, take a look at these:

I am getting 50-60 fps max settings 1080p but in towns sometimes I get weird freezing every 10-20 seconds and the longer I play the worse it gets as in more frequent.

I’m playing on a MSI GTX 1070(Newest NVIDA Driver), I7 6700k, Game on SSD, 16GB DDR4
The game runs at 50-60 FPS all the time in Rattay it likes to drop to 40 while loading the city to 30 lol

PS: max settings

That “weird freezing” and the fps drops in the most random of locations is exactly the issue.

I have managed to greatly diminish the stutters and drops on my 1080 Ti, i7 7700k, 16GB RAM, Samsung 850 Evo SSD system by:

  1. Lower “Shadow Quality”, “Postprocess Quality” and “Shader Quality” to HIGH

Leave the Draw distance sliders at the ULTRA HIGH default values (Maxing all the sliders makes microstuttering worse at after testing)
2. Put this in my user.cfg:

r_TexturesStreamPoolSize = 11264 (Set according to your VRAM)
sys_budget_videomem = 11264 (Set according to your VRAM)

r_TexturesStreamingMaxRequestedMB = 549 (Set according to your SSD Read speed)

r_texturesstreamingDeferred = 1
r_TexturesStreamingResidencyEnabled = 1
r_TexturesStreamingMipBias = -3
r_TexturesStreamingResidencyThrottle = 0.8

After these tweaks, The performance issues and microstuttering are much less prevalent now but nowhere near stable. The framerate drops will still happen in cities like Rattay and the buggy interior flashing shadows/lighting will still cause the FPS to plummet and the Draw distance is still Pathetic. But this is the best I have been able to do right now while patiently waiting for real patches to come out…

Everyone is entitled to expect better despite it being there first release because they charged the same as every other AAA Dev. Sorry but they kissed the chance at sympathy goodbye when they decided to jump in with the big boys and charge top dollar

Gameinformer’s review is up:

“A Noble Quest In Need Of Divine Intervention”

" Even if you are as in love with the premise as I am, however, the countless technical issues Kingdom Come requires you to suffer through land it in the stockade; until the developer brews up a comprehensive salve of patches and polish, you should avoid Henry’s adventure like the plague."

I have to wholeheartedly agree.

It’s been a while now Dear Warhorse Studios, where are the fixes?

Hopefuly in a few days for the 1.3, as far as I know… :wink:

Yeah I’m waiting and waiting though and I could use an official reply. I haven’t played the game since the last week. I’m eagerly waiting for the 1.3 patch.

The devs seem to ignore the official forum for some reason and focus more on moderating the game’s Steam forum where they constantly lurk and drop one liner replies on threads. But I saw one moderator drop the word “soon” on a steam thread so hopefully by Friday

I’m literally holding myself with difficulty. I could wait for one or days but it’s frustrating.

You do understand, that the studio is NOT made of veterans? Yes, the leaders are veterans, but that`s about it. It was also said in a video they have published, that they have a new team. Yes, they probably worked for smaller game companies before. But not on a project like this.

Alpha and Beta was just to show the backers how it could look, not really for de-bugging purposes. Even with 1080Ti i was not able to get more than 30FPS in Beta, no matter what settings i used or what resolution.

Dunno I play on a 1070 on ultra with 50-60 fps out in the fields and 30-40 in towns rattay has about 30
