After the last patch with my 100 rep in rattay I get searched repeatedly. I left my room in the castle and was searched 3 times before I moved 10 feet. I can’t get through town now without being searched at least twice from gate to gate. I know there is a bit of rng to it, but this is insane.
Yes, there is something to it. I was once woken up in the middle of the night by a guard who told me I should carry a light at night 
I guess it’s darn important since he couldn’t wait till morning 
But jokes apart, maybe you should submit a bug report?

Conspicuous matters, dirtiness and wear matter, and if you’re wearing “Bandity” clothing they will almost always search you.
doing a bit of successful “5 finger discount” work around town or castle will get their attention too.
Well, if nobody else is having an issue with the guards being crazy it looks like I must have a corrupted file somewhere. I run with no mods.
I had started a new playthrough for the From the Ashes expansion and was almost completed with that playthrough anyway. This was a “Good Boy” playthrough(made my money with alchemy and trained my stealth in Uzitz). 100 Rattay rep for villagers and soldiers. 20 effective charisma. Game patched just before I started the game back up to play through the epilog. You know, when you wake up in your room at the lower castle with a cutscene of a guard who was from Skalitz that no longer knows how to address you.
As soon as I left the room was searched by 3 different guards before I got to my horse to ride up. I was searched before I got to the steps of the upper castle. Then when all those cutscenes were done was searched while going down the steps. So, I just walked up and down the streets of Rattay to see how crazy it was…Like I said above at minimum 2 searches from gate to gate. So finished the playthrough and decided to play again.
Game is pretty much unplayable on the new playthrough, unless I want to be a murderous psychopath and kill EVERY guard. Stoped for searches on my new character so much I spend more time in cutscenes than playing. Will see if a new install will fix it 
Same thing, before this patch I never got searched. Now I’ve been searched 3 times completely randomly in a short space of time. I just finished the hunt quest and was searched immediately after the cutscene, lol, my standing is totally fine and I’ve been wearing chainmail and clean armor/padding/clothes.
Reinstall of the game seems to have corrected the issue.
