Guess I'm done for awhile

Well after just under 100 hours of play my game crashed for the last time (PS4). I backed it up on the cloud around the 40 hour mark after reading so much on this forum about games crashing and subsequently corrupting save files. I know I should have kept backing it up as I went along but after 50+ hours one tends to think they are in the clear, so to speak. I can’t bring myself to rehash everything from that 40 hour milestone, going forward, knowing that alot of my play time was spent getting around the games many bugs and broken quests.

So I’m putting this one on the shelf for a few months while WH sorts the mess. Boy I sure hope they do because this has been my favorite RPG of all time and I fully intend to put another 100+ hours into it… Just not until I can do so without fear of losing it all whenever I enter a dialogue tree. Keep at it WH, great potential here.

Another victim of corrupted save data. This is a serious problem.

And someone who even knew saves were running into problems, so he was backing them up…only to stop doing it.

I’m not pointing the finger at WH saying “you guys wasted my time, thanks alot” like alot of people who have suffered this issue. On the contrary, I’m not really that pissed about it (well maybe a little). I have come to realize the game just isn’t finished, plain and simple. Not with game breaking (corrupting actually) bugs like this happening across the PS4 platform.

That said, this post is just MY account of a problem plaguing many console players and after so much time invested I feel I’m owed at least that much.

As stated above, I really enjoyed this game and plan to return to it a few patches from now (or months, whichever comes first) and spend many more hours playing. No I don’t believe anyone should have to back up their games religiously and I have no problem waiting to start all over again when I can be sure that my time playing is safeguarded. For now I have other games I can play while WH buttons this one up. No skin off my back. To the rest, happy gaming.

Oh, I’m not saying you’re just pointing the finger at them. This is a problem, yes. It’s just unfortunate you stopped backing your saves up.

Yeah, I should have kept up on it, that’s my mistake. I guess what I’m getting at here is I don’t feel so bad about it, infact I look forward to starting over. Looking back after my save was corrupted however I came to realize that I just didn’t want to hassle with all of the same old bugs and broken quests only to potentially have it happen again, even if it only cost me a few hours this time around. So the shelf it is, until further notice.

I’ve been gaming for over 18 years. Haven’t once had to do any save backups. Its quite appalling that in today’s age a game is forcing players to do that.

If not the save issue, this game would be a legend.
