So, i started the game today, left my pc to get a drink, and when i came back, i got a blue screen of death looking at me, it gave out a memory error. Checked my pc and nothing seems out of the ordinary.

What was written on the BSOD screen? There is usually an error code and/or the driver causing the issue. No program should be able to cause a BSOD. Just a faulty driver or a piece of hardware is able to do that. I have also seen many of those caused by overclocking of GPU, CPU or RAM.
I don’t overclock my system, but i am using the AMD latest beta drivers: 15.11 Beta
This could have been the problem.
I don’t want to state the obvious, but when was the last time you restarted your PC?
It’s possible playing the game just pushed your memory over the limit, as opposed to necessarily “causing” the issue. I know if you go weeks without restarting, your PC is going to be more susceptible to BSOD, assuming you utilize a lot of RAM hungry programs.
