Halberds on the ground

I think the bug was there from the start. Very early in my run through i found one in lower Rattay by the church. Picked it up and got hassled by the Guards.

agreed. WH rec’d reports in Feb. think it took putting in many hours before enough objects accumulated and triggered performance problems

in FO4, adding objects to your settlement is a sure fire way to slow down your system (if not make it crash). not surprised KCD had this happen

I only started playing once the 1.3 megapatch was released so I wouldn’t have known. I just didn’t see it talked about a bunch here like we have in the past 2 weeks. Maybe it took more time for people to notice. I take my time in the game to enjoy it as much as possible.

Why is there a halbert sticking up from the ground on rattays main street? Also why are there many halberts laying on the ground around rattay?

It’s a bug where the guards are dropping them when they equip torches for the night then they re-equip another one the next day apparently. They should have just removed halberds completely from the game if they couldn’t implement them properly and add them back in later if possible.

Sad that modders are able to implement them (halfway) properly :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

They need to just fully release all tools to the modders and let them fix the game…problem is devs don’t wanna get shown up by “nobodies” lolz
Look at Skyrim…hot garbage if mods didn’t save it

I was able to pick a bunch of them up and drop them and have them despawn after a while. Helps a bit with the mess.

Couldn’t the devs just have the pole arms swap out with the torches in their inventory and have other dropped items from kills that are not taken up go away faster?

They actually despawned for you? On my PS4 game (not updated yet to 1.4x) I tried that and they just stayed piled there forever. Where did you move them to?

I’d prefer that not happen across all items. I like to stash stuff for role-play sake from the prologue and being able to recover that old stuff is nice. However I’d be for all 2-handed items that are dropped on the ground despawning across the entire landscape. Brooms, halberds etc. That way stuff you’d like to pick up later that hasn’t been discovered by NPC’s will still be there later. Like Skillitz shield and skillitz clothes from the prologue.

Let me try to reproduce, may have been a while ago. I think I was picking them up near the Rattay entrance and was working alchemy, so walked them over to alchemist guy and ended up needing the weight so I dropped them and did my alchemy (20-30 minutes). Came back out front and they were gone.

Quickfix could be to remove the torch to soldiers using a polearm. Pair them with another soldier without polearm who would carry the torch for the duo at night.

I’ve got them too. And it’s not just polearms - I have a broom lying in the middle of Rattay. It’s an accident waiting to happen, if you ask me! :wink: (But yes, definitely a bug/oversight)

I’m sure they will finish teh polearms and release them witha patch eventually., fxing this problem with it…

It seems they did do something about it. I don’t find halberds laying around anymore…well maybe one.
BTW watch out for the bandits with Lucern hammers sheeeshh!
and no pole arm use yet outside of mods
