This game is obviously very realistic and especially in its combat. I love that you can’t just cut or stab through full plate armor (rendering swords almost useless). I understand that they used maces and warhammers in such cases and I totally agree with the way they implemented combat and armor and I have no problem using those tools in such cases.
But my question: Is there a way to do half-swording or to grab the sword by the blade and hit the opponent with the guard. Anyone who knows a thing or two about medieval combat knows, that they did use those two methods with swords.
So is there a way to use a sword like that and I’ve just missed it or is this mechanic not in the game. In which case I’d love to see it implemented.

halfswording is part of combo… you can get it as perk in strengh tree

and ofc during riposte sometimes Henry use guard and pommel to hit the enemy

Henry halfswords in one of the master strikes. I don’t know which combo that guy means.
You seem to be mistaking half swording for the murder strike. half swording is holding the middle of the blade with one hand, and using it to both add force and to guide the tip as you stab. holding the blade only and using the hilt for blunt force is not half swording.
the game has half swording as a later sword skill unlock, but you cannot choose to perform the murder strike
