Happy Birthday Nintendo

Even though our game will probably never run on a Nintendo we want to say:

Happy Birthday Nintendo!

Here’s to 125 years of gaming history. One of the gaming grandfathers is the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES.
The Nintendo Entertainment System offered a number of groundbreaking titles like the Super Mario Brothers, Donkey Kong and also glorious RPG’s like The legend of Zelda, Dragon Warrior and Castlevania.
This historic old gaming brick is said to be one of the reasons why gaming got to be a worldwide phenomenon.

Thank you Nintendo!

Which RPG’s or games do you remember most? Which one did you play or still play today? Tell us but always remember… blow first!

The first game I ever played was on the Nintendo64 :’)

I will always remember Terranigma - to this day it is in my opinion the greatest RPG.
I never liked turn-based fighting in RPGs, so Terranigma was so great!

I still play it every now and then.

Errr, you mean 25 years, right? Cant imagine WW2 soldiers playing nintendo…

No, Nintendo has been around in one form or another for 125 years. It’s already been about 30 years since the NES came out.

Omg I just checked it. How the fuck am I supposed to know the company’s THAT old?

It’s probably good they eventually got out of the cab and “love hotel” ventures.

First console ever was the SNES. And damn I loved DKC because it had no time limit and great sound but Germany didn’t have the great JRPGs like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy (with FF3/6 being the best part regarding music and story). I guess Secret of Mana was the only great RPG you could play here. I don’t know about Breath of Fire or Lufia.

One really sweet adventure was Young Merlin, telling a story without any words, just audio and actions. It also had a nice overworld theme:

SuperNintendo, = Sonic*-*

Only Nintendo device I owned was a Gameboy. And I don’t like any Nintendo game to be honest (ok, maybe except Mario Karts with friends on the SuperNintendo).

What? Honest? Do your games lie to you?

Lie to me? I don’t know if I understood the question but yeah, I meant what I’ve said…

How was it a question? You didn’t even use a question mark…

I meant YOUR question.

I think you mean: You are question.

You’ve missed out on some pretty good stuff over the years.

Nah, I have enough to play. That typical Nintendo artstyle never appealed to me anyway. And I’ve stopped intense mobile gaming (the natural home of most of the Nintendo games imo) a long time ago…

I have kept all the consols series 1 in a box secured in my garage… With many many titles… Now the next gen consols are bad PC… No way i’ll get one of these…

My first NES experience was Final Fantasy which began my love of computer RPGs. I played many fine games on that system but FF is still one I pick up when they reissue it for newer platforms.

Silent Service too; man did I have a blast playing that game. There are plenty of others before but I figured I’d list my big two.

Lots of original NES games played here, but one of the SNES games that always stuck with me was ChronoTrigger. Legend of Zelda games were always big for me.
