Hardcore mode or Mod?

Which one do you think is tougher? There are several difficulty mods out there. I’m going to start a new game and am not sure if I should just play hardcore mode, or just install an overhaul mod.

I only played vanilla. Mods need to be up to date to not conflict with game’s data so you don’t get bugs. I prefer clean game than broken with advantages. And if this game ever gets very good patch fixing most of the stuff that worries me, I might install overhaul mod… I’m mostly interested in higher visibility of NPCs cause currently I don’t like stealth system. In hardcore it seemed harder, but I had no skills, could be that. Or you can backup your game files and install whatever mod you want since they improve some crucial stuff, you should try it.

I’ve been playing over a 100 hours with the Ultimate Realism Overhaul mod without any problems. If you look at what hardcore mode changes its pretty much the same thing as URO. I was just wondering if anyone had tried both and what the differences were.

I think I’m just going to start a new game with a vanilla playthrough on hardcore mode though.

Except that URO is crap and its author seems like some basement nerd with weird ideas and preconceptions about medieval realism. Dried fruts that spoil in 10 days, so ‘realistic’ LMAO. Also it’s outdated
No point in such mods when you have legit hardcore mode anyway - and it’s more deep, balanced and changes alot more than just some ingame variables

I wasn’t specifically asking about URO, but any difficulty mod.

I actually thought URO drastically improved the game though. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s a good mod.
