Hello i have a question about sieges

So forgive me if this has already been asked, anyway with Bannerlord just around the corner and my renewed interest in the genre i also renewed my interest in this game, what i would like to know is, in one of the videos on youtube a guy said there would be different ways of persuading a lord to grant you troops to assault the castle with, now if i gathered things correctly in this story basically everyone is against you at the start, the guys you are fighting are basically running the show. My question is will things be realistic in this regard, will you have to go around garnering support for some time before you can assault the castle with any hope of success, it is highly unlikely minor lords would have manpower on there own to assault anyone, it would certainly have to be a collaborative action between more then one lords, and even then you would be outnumbered, so will you have to get certain amount of supporters or does one lord magically have as many troops as you need?

Hello @samoja, welcome at Kingdom Come community.

Interesting question, but you need to know that Bannerlord and Kingdom Come differs a lot in terms of gameplay. Its like on the other side of scaling.

So in Bannerlord you are a kind of Nobleman, and the game itself is more like a mix of RPG and Strategy, where not much story elements are told. The game is on a kind of macro level, big scaling with focus on your group and not so much on character.
Kingdom come on the other hand had its focus on the character and on story and detail. You are not a Nobleman, you are the son of a blacksmith. And you will stay under a Lord by yourself. The war is not about you and your power, you will not siege a castle because of your own choice, you will siege it as a part of an army. You will be a soldier not a leader. This is not your war, you get into that war.

Thank you, yes that’s what is so interesting to me about it, seeing the world from a different angle, there was this mod for Warband called Freelancer where you can join lord army as a soldier, but it is evident that the game is not designed for that, there is a lot of contradictory info floating around, AFAIK you go on a journey for a personal vendetta of some sort, so i guessed that, while you may not be a main driving force you may be campaigning to get nobles to rebel.

Yeah, it is. Your family will die in Kingdom Come Deliverance, so you are looking for your own revenge. But you are not the only one, so you will have your own personal revenge in a huge scale war. The war is not because of your revenge, your destiny is because of that war.

Ok, here’s another question, how will city play be handled, what i noticed in most games of this genre is that generally cities are very shallow, they are basically just pit stops to resupply, and rearm, maybe drop off some unwanted gear, but there is generally little to do in the cities per se. The only game i know that handles city play half decently is AC and even then it’s secondary, what i am wondering is will cities be given more depth, will there maybe be influential groups like guilds and stuff that you can gain favor with(or run afoul) and other things like that?

This is not easy to answer. Kingdom Come Deliverance ist a game about story, and a good story always involves good characters. So a core part of game is about individual persons and relationship between them. And cities are full of people.
NPC in Kingdom come are already more deep compared to witcher or skyrim. People do have their own day and night circles, they have hobbies and jobs, and they don´t know instant about things like in other games.

For example, there is a quest in alpha ( S P O I L E R - W A R N I N G ! ), about some lost keys of a drunken bailiff.
On the next morning, after he get drunken, he miss his keys and he can not remember the herb-women took them from him because he was rude to her. She wants him to apologize in person. Player can tell this to the bailiff and for the player the quest here is done. But after some time, the bailiff stands up, go to the herb woman and talk to her. Its not a trigger than in other games, he really does this, even if the player is not there.
The game is not like a theatre build up around the player like other games. People in Kingdom Come need to eat and drink and sleep. The people in the tavern are not sitting there for show, they are not like moving mannequins. There are lots and lots of small details in the game, and that details should make the game more compact and livelike compared to other games.
I can not tell about guilds or stuff like that, but yes, there will be some more or less important groups forming the social environment of a city.
