Player? more of an … Waiting - but Hi !
Well I took the plunge and purchased. I am really excited to see how the game transpires. I am so tired of the fantasy themed games. This is really a breath of fresh air. I believe you developed the first two Mafia games which I really enjoyed and am hopeful for a great game here.
P.S. Edited because I am a multi-tasking fool who misspoke originally. Sorry.
Welcome to our community and thank you for your support.
Yes, being very realistic and non fantasy is one of our most important goals.
M&B was developed by TaleWorlds Entertainment, this is WH’s first game.
Bahh Im spacing out sorry multi-tasking. Mafia right? Loved both games as well.I feel stupid now sorry.
Well, this is not so easy. Yes, we have the Author of Mafia, and we have other teammembers from the mafia series too, but we also have members from a lot of other studios and games, for example operation flashpoint and the arma series, crysis or even skyrim.
YES! I’ve played OFP and Arma since it’s very early days, spent maybe thousand hours in Arma PvP tournaments and now you officially declared what I was hoping in. Awesome, I backed good devs
I have played most of those games so that is wonderful news. You know I was multi-tasking and was reading a post about fighting on horseback and M&B was mentioned. That is where I messed up. Again, my apologies and I know this game is in good hands!
#TeamViktor!
Well this is a very interesting Story. The same counts for me too, OFP is in my personal opinion the best game ever build.
Yes, the ArmA series is somehow better in Gameplay, but the ArmA series is build on top of Operation Flashpoint. And the Step from games before Flashpoint to Flashpoit is way bigger then from Flashpoint to ArmA. I really like the high amount of realism in this games, and thats why I am a huge fan of Kingdom Come Deliverance too, and thats why I am working for Warhorse Studios right now.
However, whe don´t only have the lead designer of Mafia (Daniel Vávra), we also have the leaddesigner of Operation Flashpoint (Viktor Bocan), and to make it even more interesting here, we also have the leaddesigner of Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising (Martin Klíma), which is very funny as Dragon Rising was build as a counterpart to the ArmA series in order of the former Publisher of Operation Flashpoint.
After the dispute of the Developer of Operation Flashpoint (Bohemia Interactive) and the Publisher (Codemasters), Codemasters had the right of the Name, and they developeted a second part called Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising while Bohemia Interactive developeted their second part of Operation Flashpoint too, which was called ArmA.
And now we have the lead developers of both sides together in one team. They are both great and capable people and they work really well togther. But this is a really funny story.
“Papa Bear to all squads, you’re approaching the enemy lines. Contact is eminent. God help us all” lol that sounds in my ears even after all those years…
When Codemasters went their way with OFP and BIS their own way with ArmA, I played only Dragon Rising and it surprised me how similar experience I got to original Cold War Crisis. So I finished DR, but Red River was dead end for me. However I joined International Conflict PvP tournament of 60+ players in Armed Assault (original ArmA, not today’s renamed OFP:CWC) and since then I have stayed with this community for many years and through all ArmA games until we stopped playing during Arma3 era. IMHO Arma 3 is still a good game, only the community changed and PvP military realistic groups went aside and were substituted by RPG/zombie-hunter player base.
However pretty cool to see that Viktor Bocan is working on KCD too, I think I saw videos with him describing some stuff from development of original OFP. I watched that, glued to HUGE 15" CRT monitor astonished by awesome graphics when BVP shot during driving and it bumped a little because of recoil. Awesome
I love landscapes in KCD, it’s the first game with very realistic forest I see. Dont understand me wrong, ArmA and OFP had good forests But you can see differences in vegetation between games, how marginal vegetation is getting denser with every game and how sharp edges are becoming smoother and fields starting to be filled with small vegetation too. We’ve spent a lot of hours during infantry trainings and combat prep lessons, trying to identify best cammo and movement behaviors while hiding in forest in different maps and areas so I can talk for hours about that
And now we will have “Two, attack that knight at 12 o´clock.” - “Five, mount horse at 3 o´clock.” - “Oh no, two is down.”
Viktor is mainly making the Combat System in Kingdom Come.
must say that combat system is so far my most favorite part of this game only bigger fights could use some improvement, but i saw that WHS is already working on it so right now I’m really tuned
btw you wrote something I kinda like Small groups fight, only with basic commands, but daaamn thats too much fantasy
Hiya from Denmark!
Hey so I backed this in 2014 in hopes I was going to get a gaming pc which I never did. But two years later things are starting to look up.
So I have the Alpha access in my steam library. Is it still in Alpha? Is there an update I need?
Please fill me in lol
Thanks
hi @snackpak321
The game is actually in beta stage now. Though it is not a classical beta as you can is in big AAA titles.
If you have Alpha in steam library it should automatically update to Beta.
Apart from Alpha, Beta has actually part of the main story. It has some new features and whole lot of beautiful forests and fields.
And also whole lot of bunch of new bugs. So thread carefully, for there was not yet an update which would fix them.
Feel free to give feedback either on forum or at the official bug reporting system at http://support.kingdomcomerpg.com/
But if you do try to first look whether your issue was not already reported.
I wish you happy gaming!
see ya around
Exactly what I wanted to hear! Thanks man
I’m late to the party but howdy folks! The beautiful environment drew me into this game. I love exploring rich worlds and am having fun in the beta.
Hey Kerbo, check out these video updates when you get the chance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAbHmE73p7o I think you’ll enjoy them.
I will check them out, thank you
you’re welcome, sir
