OK, I have read as much as I can find. I read everything in-game, etc… and I would assume a higher price saddle or Bridle would be a better one, yet all the stats are exactly the same! The verbage is also the same as well.
So does anyone know? My poor Henry doesn’t wish to spend his hard-stolen silver only to waste needlessly…

The point is the “info” given states the same CHA for ALL of them. And does not discuss whether or not you’ll get higher capacity or not…
Capacity is controlled by the strength of the horse, Al-Buraq, my horse is a Tier 5 Horse with high strength, and also on the saddlebags. I bought two saddles with different bags and checked the carrying capacity of my horse and it has a massive difference. Horseshoes make your horse faster, a saddle makes it easier for Henry to stay on the horse, the bridle helps steer the horse, particularly around tight corners, and the armor-cloth thing I can’t remember the name of protects the horse and raises it’s courage. The more saddlebags on the saddle increase the carrying capacity but lower the speed. Just like armor and clothes, the horses gear comes in different tiers that improve your horses stats significantly. When I was still using Pebbles with Noble Horseshoes, he was faster than every other horse until I got a better horse with better stats but used the same equipment.
To clarify, With full gear, Pebbles was faster than Al-Buraq, a tier five horse, without gear, but with gear, Al-Buraq was nearly twice as fast and carried almost three times the weight.
Wikia Horse Tack section has a fairly good set of lists of horse tack items and the various stats.
Different horses will also impact overall capacity etc.
The horse furniture has differences if you hit Q (on PC, have no idea what it is on consoles) to display extra info. Click on the item to highlight it, then hit Q. Anyway, you’ll see all the stats of the item and can decide what’s best for you.
Sadly, on the PS4 - you have an “info” button that gives some generic info, and then ‘stats’ - yet on both ALL the bridles, and ALL the saddles every single stat is the same (only exception is the weight stat on the saddle, based on quality only).
So starting out I bought a tier one horse and top tier gear (just hoping I guess)… Then down the road when I can buy a Tier five horse I will already have the gear for it??
Yes, that’s what I did and it seemed to work pretty well. The top horseshoes made a huge difference to pebbles’ speed, for example.
I believe the higher the price of the saddle the better
