I don’t know if I am the only one to notice this but the relationship between Hans Capon and Henry reminds me so much of Arthur and Merlin from the television series, the banter they have, henry with options of sarcastic remarks, Hans replying with the whole “Is that how you always talk to your betters” kind of attitude, i think its brilliant if this was intended but if not, happy coincidence
Does he show back up after I saved him?
No idea. I know in a later quest where I had to find Sir Radzig I lockpicked door and Hans was laying in bed all bruised and battered still and I’m taking like 20-30 in game days later.
he does convalesce eventually and you will have more adventures with him
Good. I actually like Hans. He’s not a half bad guy just needs a solid dose of real life to be less bratty
Yeah, Sir Hans takes longer to heal up than Henry. I mean, after Theresa scraped Henry’s utterly pulped remains off the end that telephone pole Runt beat him to death with, then dragged him diagonally all the way across the map in a slow wagon with no suspension before he even saw a doctor, Henry was back up and running within 2 weeks. Sir Hans, OTOH, takes much longer to recover from much less (after all, he limped home from Talmberg Wood).
So, we have 3 options to consider…
-
Sir Hans, being a noble, lacks the immune system, healing metabolism, and/or pain tolerance of a peasant, so legitimately takes longer to heal and/or is less ready to go when less than 100%.
-
Sir Hans is milking the situation because he’s having a fling with a nurse and/or is excused from his duties as long as he’s bed-ridden.
-
Sir Hans is more troubled in mind than in body. He now owes his life to a peasant and perhaps he got raped by the Cumans, too, whom everybody says are serial rapists, after all. Thus, while he might be healed up from the bumps and bruises he got, it might be taking him a long time to come to grips with the situation, given his previous acceptance of his divine right to be above such things.
Yeah, i tought i was the only one. This whole situation: at the start you having rivalry with him that the people around you just do not tolareta but Hans do, who actually wants to prove himself even though you are a peasent. And when you were his “servant” during the hunting there was a moment when he shot at a boar with an arrow even though you told him not to do. He comforted you that you are just his servent that probably knows nothing, meanwehile he’s an experienced hunter, and right after that the boar gets up and run away, and Hans was like “dont say a word, just get after it” is a typical moment of the 1000 others like this in the Merlin series. I think this was an intentional reference.
